The previous administration
Got Nigeria into this mess
What happened to our foreign reserves
From over $70 billion to $18billion
When Buhari took office

What do you profit for telling lies?
Why have you chosen to be a big fat liar?

STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT CRUDE PRICE, JONATHAN LEFT YOU $30B, OBASANJO TELLS BUHARI

Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to stop using dwindling crude prices for lack of performance.

According to Obasanjo, he met worse when he took power in 1999, but made the best of it.

He reminded Buhari that unlike his administration that met a paltry $3.7 billion, in the coffers, Goodluck Jonathan left behind a whooping $30 billion.

He said “When I assumed office in 1999, I inherited $3.7 billion in reserve, while Buhari met $30 billion, almost 10 times of what I met then, and the price of oil then was $9. When it got to $20, I was dancing. know the price is down now and with time, it will jump up again. What Buhari is doing currently is preparing ground for Nigeria to take advantage when it goes up again.”

We don't blame you Osinbajo, it is the weak Gej govt that failed to play its game well that I blame. If Gej had been courageous enough to replace the then inec head and probably not contest himself but sought/anoint another to take over from him (especially someone from the 'Not' we won't be hearing all this always.
To be sincere, the past administration must be biting its fingers now, though they were not saints either.

they are just using this statement to douse the tension created by the maina gate
shehu, the presidential spokesman tried using jonathans name to douse it when he said that we should blame jonathan for maina gate, but it didn't work
and now the VP is coming out with his own.

the truth is anytime they are caught napping, they just mention Jonathan and one corruption allegation which zombies like to hear, and zombies will shift attention

He is saying utter rubbish.

Buhari's incomprehensible Forex policy and the appointment of an inappropriate finance minister was the primary cause of the recession and the scarcity of forex that led to the collapse of many companies.

Jonathan made huge mistakes no doubt but to blame the present state of the economy today on him is delusional.

When OBJ took over in 1999, he met an economy in bad shape after the shameless looting of the economy by Abacha government and at preposterous levels by the Abdulsalam Abubakar's regime.

Yet he did not start by whingeing and whining about the horrid state of the economy.

Rather pro-active policies were introduced that saw the reflating of the economy in a very short period of time

babaolofin:

You are a liar. PMB endured the worst oil price having come into recession & crisis from onset. I have no time now but I will repeat my posting on another thread.

Nna, bros, have you forgotten that at the time Obj negotiated for the cancellation of our debts which is being serviced in geometrical progression every year oil was less than $65 / barrel. The Obj govt left over $60 billion in foreign reserve & other offshore investment.

In 2008 for the first time in global history oil rose to $118 / barrel. Since then till toward the end of GEJ govt oil rose to $140 and later fell. GEJ govt borrowed heavily, Nasir El-rufai was crying seriously against the logic of borrowing heavily while oil price is increasing. They were making noise of Nigeria being the best economy in Africa based on IMF GDP ratings. I believed the madam at the Finance Ministry was part of this conspiracy. The oil fell below $30 / barrel all those noise stopped. The GEJ govt with oil between $118 to $140 per barrel did not save kobo. Rather, they borrowed heavily & spent more than 50% of the money Obj left in foreign reserves leaving $25 billion.

Obj inherited $5.5 billion in 1999 with very huge debt leaving $60 billion in 2007. Ibos hate him but that does not change Providence on his part.

Somebody has started calculating excess crude oil money for Buhari in a budget made with larger portion coming from borrowing & some states exceeding their borrowing limits & also unable to pay salary. The price of oil can only stabilise between $53 & $56 if OPEC maintains regulation. At this price Buhari can't service any loan, we need money to service infrastructure & power.

My fear is the northern system of governance which is not developmental but rather centered on manipulation by cabals.

I dont see Osinbajo being a better president than Buhari.
A critical analysis of his utterances and actions, aside those public show he was carrying out, would show he is actually shallow in his thoughts and statements.
He has also been caught in more than one official mistep, lie or poor grasp of details.
I,just as in Buhari's case assessed Osinbajo wrongly, and no longer wish him to lead Nigeria.
Hahaha, but sir what happened to JOY naa?

Noted. I withdraw the statement for calling you a liar. The response was not a direct reply to your posting but my response to another posting on another thread. I was busy I only copied it. Since it was a reply to another topic, this made you raised some observations. However, I repeated the posting because it contains a paragraph that answers the fall in oil price during GEJ era.

I believe a new govt coming into recession has more problem than a govt that had enjoyed a boom before reception.
