This is the continuation of my last post 5 Reasons Why Any Woman Must Be Financially Independent where i said that it is important for any woman to be earning at least little in order to complement that which the husband earns for the growth of the home and for the sake of the unknown future.

The last post was not meant for just women but for the men too to open their eyes to some realities as only love cannot sustain the family. Lost of job and death may roar their ugly head, any of these two will definitely tell when just one person is the source of income.

Never-the-less, it should be known that most men love the idea of a working wife but are afraid that some other things might come up which will be detrimental to the relationship and running of the home at large.

Here are some of those fears:

1. Women lose respect easily: Most men are of the opinion that women shouldn't be allowed to make money as they do as most women grow wings when they can claim that they toil to make their own money.

They feel they become arrogant when they are also earning to the point of seeing them the man as minor all because they are also financially involved in running of the home.

2. Race to remain the head: Many men are of the opinion that as the head there are things they must do to remain relevant.

Providing the resources should be their sole duty, hence, it should be a no go area for a woman as they should be in the kitchen and to take care of the children not just when they(the man) are away but at all times.

3. Fear of the effect of exposure: This is common among men that are promiscuous. They know that when their woman mingles with others, especially men, there is possibility of them having admirers who can become a fierce rival.

They know that when some men are determined to get a woman they can do everything humanly possible to get them, possibly because they think some women cannot hold their feelings and decisions.

They trust women less because of what they have done to other ladies out there, hence, it becomes uneasy for them to trust and let their woman work too.

4. They see it as the only way to show love: Some men feels the only way to win a woman completely is to make her sit all at home 24/7. They believe so much in giving her every thing she needs that will not make her even think of setting up a business let alone looking for job.

When she wants sanitary pad during her period or any other thing she should just take from the one given to her or ask at any point in time.

5. Fear of being denied sexual pleasure: Some men that are so active sexually don't love the idea of allowing their woman work because they don't want the complaint of being tired whenever they are ready for the legal matrimonial war in the bed. Like it is the sex they will keep feeding on.

If your man gives you the opportunity to show the world your talent in exchange for money as usual, it is important you make good use of that opportunity. Taking advantage or allowing yourself to be ruled by that female ego, especially when in power should not be your case.

There is no big deal when you have your own money and still ask for some from him, remember that he might be short of cash and you might be the only saving grace.

Remain humble and respectful even if you are making more than your man as it is still in love he allowed you to face the world as nothing is sure, tomorrow might come and he is nowhere to be found, what will be of you and the child(ren) when such meets you in a complete idle situation?

All those things are stupid reasons.
1. A woman who loves you, would never disrespect you even if she's the president of a country.
2. There's no need to drag who the head should be. A man's role is never disputed or dragged except he's not man enough. And if his wife loves him, she should groom him into being a responsible head of the family.
3. Except you are marrying a new born child. Which stupid exposure, didn't she go to school, didn't she have friends. You better let her out, cos if she forcefully paves way for herself, you may not like the outcome.
4. It's not showing love in anyway. Let her exercise herself. Moreover, if something happens to you, how will your wife and kids survive? Let that woman hustle too, an idle mind is the devil's tool.
5. No woman would deny her husband sexual pleasure when she's been away from him and missed him for the whole day. She may be tired or even sick sometimes, but it's not gonna be frequent.
All these things, should not scare men, your wife is your wife. Unless you've decided to let another man have her

Why would a risk averse man want to have a wife with a higher risk of suffering similar problems. Granted, correlation does not automatically imply causation. But it can be insightful.The workplace, especially in the private sector, is a tough, high pressure environment. It has to be a hellish experience for a woman to juggle between excellence at work, raising children to be well behaved and well cared for, and general quality care of the household.

Good men who want their women to be housewives during the children's tender years have reasons that are beneficial to all parties concerned - the man, the woman, and the children. Part-time employment, if not too stressful for the women, also makes sense.

By the way, being a housewife is not an idle vocation. It is very tasking to give quality care to the children and the home. There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed about being one as it has been the way of mankind before the battle of the sexes fueled by identity politics. These are the reasons insecure men, who want their wives fully under their control with no place to run, come up with it.
Some are smart enough to sugar coat.

The saying that women with money are more disrespectful is just a myth. Go to homes where the man is the sole source of income and see how their wives live in extreme submissiveness. The man is lord and all...A good spouse is all we should hope for.

I love and respect housewives though, it's not easy to give up your own desires for the family.

because in case there is divorce or trouble it is the man that leaves the house for the wife, she gets alimony and child support and she has a higher chance of getting custody of the children since she has been the primary care giver.

But in Nigeria what do we have? You will get thrown out back to your father's house with nothing. and woe to you if all the assets are in your husband's name nothing for you.

And If you had been married for a while this means you have been out of touch with the job market and you have to start again from the scratch with nothing. You will be far below your mates who have been working, you now have to compete with fresh hot graduates and people who having been working and have lots of experience employers are looking for.

So my dear it is extremely risky to depend solely on another human.

Maybe they truly loved their wives and appreciated the sacrifices the women made.

It is true that there are real risks in an oppressive society like Nigeria. There have also been many success stories of housewives married to responsible men in Nigeria. But such stories would not dominate the media, because good news does not spread like wildfire. There is nothing sensational about it. I get your point. But you can't fully trust another.certain situation in life can change people. take me for example how I saw life 5years ago is completely different from how I see life today. people close to me say I have changed. Sometimes I wonder how my life would have turned out if I had gotten married to a guy I once thought I liked 5years ago.

My point is you can't totally know someone, so you have to prepare for rainy days.
