Nigeria trained South African air force chief ! Wow !

We own them o ! cheesy cheesy
.

MK and APLA members were all retrained by SANDF because all that they have leant from foreign militaries were just a joke. Hence, it was required of them to be retrained from basics and hence be granted their ranks from their various rebel groups.

type used by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre, formed under the auspices of the UN. The Cessna 150 was used as an initial flying trainer. The aircraft obtained by the Museum is of the type flown by Azanian People's Liberation Army (APLA) members in exile, but is not one of the actual aircraft used to train the volunteers. Members of these Non-Statutory Forces were trained at Zaria in Nigeria and are referred to as “The Class of ‘77”.

In 1976 a decision was taken by the APLA High Coomand, Central Committee and the Military Comission to train aviatiors. A group of 22 were identified and sent to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre at Zaria. Fourteen pilots and eight aircraft engineers were trained. One of those was Deputy Chief of the SAAF, Major General Gerald Malinga.

SANDF retrained them because what they have leant from musketry to drills were just hilarious more like apes exercises. We needed to shape them up and taught them the right things.

hahahah

This guy is talking about blitzkrieg in 2015

Also, article says you did not meet major restiance during the attack

go read about the mother of all modern wars, "the gulf war" the allied forces did not meet any form of resistance from the troops stationed at the border of kuwait, why? because the fear of superior weapon systems and a well trained force is enough deterrence to put any militant group on the run or surrender even without a short being fired.

Sets new African record in speed of completing a battle !

"Bama’s reclaim, which was led by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Division, Maj-Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, was said to be a very “fast and secretive” one in which the officers and men had to toe the line behind the infantry general into the town without knowing his next moves.

“The GOC did not meet any serious resistance between Konduga and Bama indicative of the fact that the insurgents who are now in confusion had actually retreated and galvanized arsenals in Bama town waiting for the show down to finally reclaimed the captured town last September,” said a Bama resident that came to Maiduguri Tuesday afternoon."

It changes everything because MK and APLA rebels were all trained by incompetent militaries across Africa except those who were trained by Algeria and include Mandela. SANDF retrained them because they were very ignorant of many things in Military affairs. The skill and tactics that they are as at today using were all acquired from SANDF.

Everybody on nairaland knows South Africa is more advanced than Nigeria only in manufacturing army equipment, but Nigeria is more advanced than South Africa in manufacturing navy equipment like modern stealth warships . You have your area of strength, we have our own strength too
.
what warship has Nigeria has ever built through R & D ?

South Africa is way ahead of Nigeria, you're guaranteed to find SA made weapons in almost 90% of the wars that are currently fought from the DRC, Nigeria, Somalia to Iraq.

Nigerian paratroopers can't jump into a situation where they'll be engaged in heavy combat, as you lack support structures and equipment.

That's new for your sf? Shame!

Nigerian Paratroopers have been jumping into combat situations since the civil war era.

paratroopers saw action on the federal side at the time of the epic siege on Owerri during the Nigerian Civil War(Sept 1968-May 1969). This was at the time when MiG and Ilyushin jets harried Owerri while supplies were air-dropped for besieged federal troops.

The 3rd marine commando division which took owerri was commanded by General olusegun obasanjo.

the 82 Composite Division which came into being around 1981, replacing the 4 Infantry Division, started off with the following brigade-sized formations under command, which included 31 Airborne Brigade and 2 mobile brigade. These brigades are entirely parachutists.

Jonathan's bodyguard is a general?

It is actually sad that a General has to herd his troops to the front for him to have command and control over his men.

Nigeria can't deploy her fighters outside your boarders for air combat. Your air frames would be eaten.

Rebel force! With no support structures.

Your troops routed in the CAR wish they had these structures.

From liberia-ivory coast - Chad - guinea and mali. Nigeria has and continues to deploy it's Airforce and structures in hostile Airspaces.

In Mali, Nigeria deployed it's largest Air and ground maintenance crew yet.

We deployed : 2 C-130's
1 G-222
1 Elint compliant ATR-42 surveillance plane.
4 Alpha jets
2 MI-35 attack Helicopters
1 D0-228.

South-Africa has and would never be able to deploy this quantity of assets. It was a tug of war with the U.N before your Half-french Helicopters could be deployed to the DRC.

There's no command structure like a typical rebel force.

Hostile air space?

Which of the rebel forces you fought had a fighter capability?

To deploy your air assets your air force needs an airport, with functioning systems.

Or else limited or zero night and bad weather fighting capability or flying.

To make it clear for you the Nigeria air force can't maintain air control and superiority over an area the size of Yobe and Borno state combined.
