For the ISRT yes, but the ISRT was only a interim AAM till the A darter came out. No detail on number of A-darters will be public domian since you know we build it our self.

A-Darter is missile is NOT yet in service today though developed, and it is a south african missile NOT yet configured to be used by SAAB Gripen which is a Swedish made imported jet .

try to be honest and give complete information. half information is a form of mis-information.

south african Gripen jets have only one missile each for over 5 years . fact you were hiding for 600 pages of this thread.

TRUE FACT IS : nigerian 12 F-7 jets have 20 PL-9 missiles to share and a big back up supply of over 100 Atoll missiles too, plus many air to ground rockets/rocket pods/special bombs all worth about $ 30 million of assorted ammunitions. fact !

he A-Darter has already been integrated on to the South African Air Force’s Saab Gripen fighters and is also being integrated on to its BAE Systems Hawk fighter-trainers. Integration of the missile on Brazilian Air Force fighters will take place in Brazil, with the support of Denel Dynamics, which is the design authority.

The SA National Defence Force (SANDF) on Saturday denied reports that South African troops had clashed with rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

"We have not heard about any of this," said SANDF spokesman Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga.

The SA National Defence Union (Sandu) said the local troops had been involved in clashes with the rebels.

"[We understand] that troops deployed in the intervention brigade in the eastern DRC have been engaged in at least two incidents of engagement with enemy rebel forces near Goma over the past 12 hours," Sandu's Tim Flack said in a statement.

"Apparently our troops eliminated an enemy machine gun nest hampering the advance of Congolese forces and also returned mortar fire on rebel forces."

Flack said the union wished the local troops in the DRC all the best.

A-Darter January flight tests successful
Date: 7 March 2012
The Denel Dynamics A-Darter 5th generation
infra-red guided short range air-to-air missile is a
step closer to production following a successful
series of undisclosed guided launches in January.
The joint R1 billion missile programme between
South Africa and Brazil is in its fifth year of
development, and only a hand-full of countries in
the world are capable of developing missiles in
this class.
"We successfully executed the air launched
guided missile firings from the South African Air
Force's SAAB Gripen fighter platform at the local
Overberg Test Range," said Deon Olivier, Business
Development Manager for Air-to-Air missiles.
"These launches were completed against
(amongst others) the Denel Dynamics high speed
Skua aerial target drone which is designed for
high subsonic missile testing and evaluation."
The programme has now entered its qualification
phase, and is well on its way to completion by
next year (2013), with the ultimate goal of being
production-ready by the end of that year. The
initial fighter aircraft for integration are the Hawk
and Gripen for the South African Air Force (SAAF),
and the Northrop F-5M for the Brazilian Air Force.
It is likely that A-Darter will enter into operational
service in both air forces in 2014, Denel Dynamics
said in a statement released at the Defence and
Security Asia 2012 show in Thailand.
The company says the relationship with the
Brazilian Air Force and Brazilian industry on the
development programme has strengthened the
ties between the two countries and may lead to
more cooperation opportunities. "There are also
significant export opportunities for this product
into further markets, particularly with A-Darter's
aircraft integration flexibility across platforms,"
said Olivier.
The A-Darter was successfully launched in-flight
from a Gripen fighter jet for the first time on 17
June 2010. This led to all subsequent firings
taking place with clearance for the full carriage
and firing envelopes of the Gripen. It ultimately
resulted in a successful clearance programme -
commended by SAAB as well as South African
certification authorities.

Media statement by the South
African National Defence Union
on operational contact by
South African troops with M23
rebel enemy forces in the DRC.
Pretoria
SANDU HQ
24 August 2013
SANDU understands that South
African Troops deployed in the
intervention brigade in the
eastern DRC have been
engaged on at least two
incidents of engagement with
enemy rebel forces near Goma
over the past 12 hours.
Apparently our troops
eliminated an enemy machine

advance of Congolese forces
and also returned mortar fire
on rebel forces.
SANDU wishes our troops in the
DRC all the best and we call on
all South Africans to support
our men and women in uniform
facing the inevitable dangers of
military conflict irrespective of
political opinion. Our soldiers
need to know that we back
them. We wish for their safe
return after successful
completion if their tour of duty.

Show me any Nigeria air to air combat kill, any Nigerian MBT(Main battle tank) kill. Any Nigerian counter battery firing. Any Nigerian submarine kill(sinking). Any Nigeria drone in action, selecting targets for howitzers. Any Nigerian successful interception of a jet fighter. Any record of Nigerian howitzers destroying armoured vehicles, tanks, infantry, anti aircraft systems and war planes. If there's non that means Nigeria lacks war experience and doesn't have a unique way of operating like the SANDF(Long distances, less supplies).

That's the problem with you lot. It's all about roles. Ghana has the better living standards, which is what matters in the end. And actually, the fastest growing economy right now is Libya at 11.6 per cent. So, I won't be answering your clearly erroneous question. You have some reading to do.
