Lmao! we had excess crude account and $30+billion foreign reserve to shoreup and protect nigeria from the fall of crude oil price.. But his baba chose to remove subsidy and double pms price so that his paddy Dangote can build a new refinery in ondo state... so laughable.. All these their ploys.. they think we are blind..lol |

I expect that the Nigeria police inability to check Fulani herdsmen/farmers conflict, maintain control of army liberated territories in the north east, significantly curtail kidnappings and detect and prosecute criminals - mostly monumental tasks -accounted for this. This is unfortunate since Nigeria should rank above many nations like Nicaragua, Mexico and the Philippines rife with extra judicial civilian killings by police. Nigeria police are saints by comparisons – you ever seen Jamaica Police? Why place even the US police on Nigeria streets, they'd kill half the population, faced with the average Nigerian's lawlessness and sense of entitlement. Botswana police would flee by foot, forgetting the airplane, through the borders in a day. Nigeria police have my sympathy. |

Emekamex: NIGERIA POLICE is a disgrace. Nothing will change until a proper reform of the police is achieved. This is what I witnessed at a police check point today at Akabo in Imo State. Some police men wearing police vests without name tags molested an elderly couple on their way to immunize their grandchild. They called them traffickers, and hit them with gum butts. The oldman told them he is a retired doctor and grandfather and offered to take them to see the mother of the baby. They refused insisting that the matter must be settled there with N300,000 cash despite identification of the couple by passersby and many who knew him and his wife. In the end the kept the mother and child under the sun for four hour until until the couple and sympathizers scrapped 75,000 and gave them. They threatened to shoot people who iwere interceding claiming that nothing will happen since the authorities were aware of their actions. The doctor is saying he would go to court. Nigeria is finished. 1 Like |

Almost all we Nigerians are wickedly corrupt and not only the police officers. Each individual and group is as corrupt as it is. And mostly each person or group will not see itself but another person or group. |

All of you wey get mouth, it's not a difficult thing to test especially as the average Nigerian is a mobile-phone cameramen in chief. And with Nigeria's film and music industry expertise,it shouldn't be too difficult to make a docudrama in which the subject is The Comparative Behaviour of Police on Three Continents or whatever. Select Brazil in South America , Philippines in Asia, Jamaica in the Caribbean and Nigeria in Africa. One of the test exercises would be a member of the filming crew (rest of film crew hiding) approaching a policeman, engaging them in hot argument, ending in pushing, pulling and tugging of their shirts – as I've seen happen in Nigeria many times without death– and we'll see what the outcome would be. ...a Brit might quip, 'your police is crap b'cause you Nigerians get away with bloody-murder!' |

There's no police force in Nigeria. There are criminals carrying assault rifles all over the country to intimidate and extort money from mostly innocent people. Despite the fact that the various nonentity governments since the 80s do not pay them for months, their attitude towards the masses is inexcusable. |
