It's very visible to even the blind.. SW is the best.

The SE surprisingly falls in the least position despite their small size and landmass.
Northern zones are just there, fairing well.

SW contributes the largest IGR to Nigeria. Over 60% of total revenue generated in the country.

This topic is not about IGR, Rather it is about development. Lagos was the former capital of Nigeria, Thus monies generated from every region was used to develop lagos. IGR wise, Most of the other 5 or 6 states in the SW doesn't generate more than Lagos even of the IGR of the other states conbined together.

Lagos contributes the most IGR in Nigeria and this is because of how Nigeria is run. If Nigeria's useless leaders open up the ports in Delta state, Anambra state, Rivers state and calabar, The IGR of Lagos become as it should be.

If FG also bring in embassies across SE n SS, Lagos IGR will fall even further.

If FG builds the needed Airports in SE n SS, Lagos IGR will Plummet even more.

As Asari DOkubo said...Open all Seaports in SS; Port Harcourt, Onne, Calabar and Warri, and Riverport in Ontisha, and cut off oil allocation to Lagos, and watch Lagos fall like pack of cards. He said you will see yorubaas begging in the streets like Alamajiris. These people have nothing, they use Niger Delta oil allocation money to service their loans, deceiving you they are doing well. Did you know that all SW states have exceeded their borrowing limits? Meaning, banks will not loan them money again. That's why they are afraid of separation as Igbos want. What are you afraid of, afonjas? You claim you are this, that, you are tall like Iroko, but when we tell you to stand alone since you are all that and contributing to Nigeria more than others, you say no; whom are you deceiving? You think we are fools? Same Igbos you say contributes nothing, want to be alone, you panic and use all avenues of evil and envy to rubbish their struggle. Wicked evil things!

So Asari Dokubo is the sort of fellow you listen to ?
Why should the oil allocation be cut off.

Is Lagos state not a part of Nigeria. The oil belongs to Nigeria not to the states of the ND. With the allocation cum 13 percent derivation these ND states are getting one would think they would be gearing to meet up to Lagos or even Ogun state. But alas we are ao corrupt yet we point fingers at other states as pilferers on our supposed oil money. We have produced some of the worst treasury looters in human history. I mean take a look at people like Diepriye or is it Igbenedion or even Ibori a well celebrated theif.

Just take a look at Aregbesola and his investment in education in Osun. In a few years no state would be able to match up with the human potential from that state. Of course we criticize him for his inability to pay complete salaries but are these our governors not owing salaries as well. Abeg leave pipo wey dey use their sense alone and focus on how to make our own states better.

South west should be happy for being placed in a strategic geographical area by nature which made them the entry point of Nigeria from the sea.
Starting from the missionaries to colonial masters who made Lagos the FCT and FG who focus the development in Lagos which in turn favours Ogun and Oyo state.
You can't sit a former FCT, have working seaport, international airport in your region without attracting development from every corner of the nation and beyond.

It shows you too your thinking is not straight to have quoted a dumbass "zuma rock" headed Asari,i guess lagos died during the obasanjo starvation ba?,do u know what percentage of the IGR that lagos and ogun state only contribute to the country's IGR,upon the starvation is there any state that can still compete with Lagos in all facets,IGBOs SHOULD LEARN TO MAN UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR DESTINIES AND STOP CRYING LIKE A BABY,That why i laugh at the easterners when they clamour for presidency, tell me two virile persons fromm the eastern part that can rule this country with a past antecedence, tell me ,these, esusu Governors??.

The SE wasn't the only affected region during the war. A part of the present day SS (Port Harcourt, Akwa Ibom and Calabar) alongside the then Mid-Western region (Delta, and Benin and a part of of Ondo) all shared in the woes of the war.

Besides, the SW was doing better than the SE and SS before the war, all thanks to Cocoa and the influence of Western education which caused the colonialist to settle in the Old Western Region. The suffering of the old Eastern region was self inflicted. You all have Ojukwu to thank.

Stop including Anambra among places that should have ports, a River is not a Sea or Ocean.

Ships cannot sail that river in Onitsha,Ondo has the deepest and Longest shoreline in Nigeria and they don't have a Port, Uyo has access to the Sea and they don't yet have a Port so why must the FG think of a river port when states with Sea haven't even gotten a Port.

It depends on the parameter that you use to determine the development index.
Is it by human development index?
Or by industrialisation?
Or by infrastructural?
BTW how can a geopolitical zone be developed in a backward underdeveloped country like Nigeria?
