The new Govt House project is a welcome development but I wonder why Soludo chose to return to the old abandoned Govt House site instead of the new 3 arm zone proposed by the Peter Obi govt. The new 3 armed zone would have been better in my opinion, as it caters for all arms of government in one location.
Lets hope another governor does not come and also decides to go develop the 3 arm zone because this Govt house will only cater for the executive. The old govt house site could have been used for something else.

I totally agree with you, with the Three Arms Zone, Icc and the Awka Millennium City Estate, that millennium City layout would have been something else in future, especially Awka Millennium City Estate, that project has quality as their trademark

The new government house is near federal secretariat and state secretariat, I noticed work have started there they have started bringing building materials, I believe after completion of the project they will dualize the road to link up with Akex Ekweme road

The new govt house is a better location. Legislature, Secretariat, Court are all there. They should also relocate lands there, ASUDEB and tax office.

Anambra Fashion Expo: Opening Anambra to the world, placing Awka on the Fashion Map

Anambra, a state blessed with human capital resources, and innovators have not taken its place as far as fashion and entertainment are concerned. This is a state that prides itself as the “light of the nation” but sad to say that its light hasn't reflected on activities centred around innovation, fashion evolution and the effervescent youthful energies on free display — the good news is; that things are about to change.

One of the mantras of the 21st century that has been represented everywhere is “Innovate or Die.” That very phrase has led to the discovery of many geniuses, breaking new grounds, exploring the unexplored, exercising their youthful strength in pushing for causes like what we saw with #ENDSars, garnering real-time numbers like the growth and awesomeness of CKay and more. This to many is the new world order.

In this stead, a state that has been likened to anything and everything business, and has shied away from showcasing other strengths, especially as it concerns Entertainment, Fashion and Lifestyle is about to get its groove on. These sectors are the top economic movers in saner climes, and help in reducing the high spate of unemployment and insecurity - hence the need for a robust private sector investment, with sure ready government backing.

The Anambra Fashion Expo is an idea birthed by our very own, and one from Anambra first family. The recent buzz by the organizers of Anambra Fashion Week, their awe-inspiring strategies and their media uproar is about to change things for Igbo “premium state,” Anambra, even as it is geared towards attracting investors/investments and building strong confidence for homegrown fashion and accessories stakeholders.

The Anambra Fashion Expo will give room for indigenous creatives to showcase their crafts, reduce the massive brain drain to other states and regions, much thanks to the huge lacuna the expo is about to fix, and make the state colourful with ambience, colours, swank and styles. Also, professionals and top fashion houses from all over the country will converge in their numbers to support the maiden edition, which promises to be an avenue for fanfare and merriment.

The choice location — the newly built international Conference Center, for this year's event, is in tandem with the project itself as the location was perfectly crafted for events with large numbers.

We look forward to a fun-packed event as organised by a hard-working team, having the enigmatic and thoroughbred SSA on media to the Anambra Governor, Mr Charles Chukwuma Soludo
in the person of Mazi Ejimofor Opara powering the media and strategy team.

We hope for the best!!!

Congratulations to Anambra State-based football club, #AspireFC Adazi-Ani, for gaining promotion to Nigeria National League(NNL) after beating Essien Ayi FC at Aper Aku Stadium Makurdi, Yesterday.

I have watched this Adazi-Ani-based team started from scratch by Young, Dr Emeka Okeke, growing from zero to NNL within a short distance. While I congratulate them for making it to Nigerian National League, I wish them success and also urge them to return Anambra Club to Nigerian Premiership League.

I engaged with this idea bearing young Emeka Okeke on his football-driven youth development that is nurturing young footballers into top stars at Awka during the 2022 FC Bayern Munich Youth Cup Nigeria Tournament held in April 2022. It was about how we can partner to explore the football-driven economic potentials of our state with the Sports loving government of Mr Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo. It was about how we can create a thriving football-driven sub-economy in Anambra State.

I also heard that Dr Emeka Okeke is set to sponsor 20 under-16 Nigerian teenage footballers for October trials in Germany during the anticipated FC Bayern Munich Global youth cup tournament.

I look forward to the #AnambraSouth senatorial zone partnering with initiatives like those mentioned above in the area of youth/talent development since I am already developing a 10,000-capacity sports complex within our zone in line with my #PoliticsOfDevelopment.

Ikengawo, why are you always bitter and envious. Why can't you for once focus on your backward Imo state. With all the nonsense hype you ediots are doing in Imo thread with almost nothing to show for all the noise, still yet you cannot find anyone from Anambra commenting there. Yes, Anambra is a premium state. Yes, Anambra is the most strategic and most important state in Igboland. Anambra leads in events. fashion show, education, industry, commerce, etc. You are talking of events when you don't even have ICC in Imo state whereas Anambra has the biggest and best ICC in Nigeria. This is a fact you must continue to live with. Anambra is not your mate.

POST ANSEC MEDIA RELEASE

1. Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) frowns at the frequent cases of youths incursions into the lands of people who have appropriate government titles. This is illegal and can no longer be tolerated. ANSEC has therefore directed relevant law enforcement agencies to immediately arrest such errant youths and prosecute them according to the law. Section 6, sub section (1) of the Prohibition of Fraudulent Practices on Land and Property law of 2012 prohibits illegal collection of fees on lands as follows: “Any person who demands or collects any fee not approved by law from any person who is developing or improving on an already existed property in the State shall be guilty of an offence and liable to imprisonment for five years or to a fine of five hundred thousand naira or both.

2. The effort to rid our roads and streets’ corners of refuse is beginning to yield some obvious results. Government therefore urges households and the general public to desist from indiscriminate refuse disposal. Anambra State Waste Management Agency (ASWAMA) is gradually transiting to door-to-door refuse collection and anybody found disposing refuse at unauthorized locations will be promptly sanctioned.

3. In fulfillment of Governor Soludo’s campaign promise to immediately commence the urban regeneration of Okpoko slum in Ogbaru Local Government Area, ANSEC approved the rehabilitation of 9 roads in Okpoko measuring 14.053 kilometers with dual carriage, reinforced concrete media and sidewalks on both sides. The roads will cost N9 billion and will be completed in 12 months.
ANSEC also approved the full scale desilting and dredging of 62,034 cubic metres of Nwangene drainage which has been a source of nightmare to road users. The project which will cost N241,439,316.29, is going to completed in 3 months .
The rehabilitation of the failed carriage way and embankment at Mmili John section of Oba-Ojoto road and the dredging of Mmili John was equally approved by ANSEC. The work will cost N61,494,541.88 and is expected to be completed in 6 weeks.

4. The memo on the abandoned government house and 25 other peripheral structures was presented by the Commissioner for Housing and considered by ANSEC. The project which will cost N6.088 billion and completed within 18 months was approved by ANSEC. Also endorsed for construction are gate houses, police posts, perimeter fence measuring 2.22 linear kilometers and other internal works such as drive ways, parking areas, walk ways, drainages, water supplies, green area, etc. All of these will be complete at the cost of N1.317 billion and delivered in 9 months.

5. It came to the attention of ANSEC that some unscrupulous elements are selling parts of Mamu Forest Reserve. Government is poised to arrest and prosecute all those that are culpable in these unlawful land transactions. For the avoidance of doubt, Mamu Forest Reserve is not for sale and any property developer or member of the public who allows him/herself to be lured into purchasing parcel(s) of land there will have him/herself to blame.

6. To further improve the quality of health care delivery in the State, government through the Ministry of Health placed a vacancy advert two months ago for medical consultants and officers, pharmacists, nurses, radiographers, medical laboratory scientists and technicians. ANSEC directed the Commissioner for Health to interview the 4,400 applicants who applied for the jobs so that they would be immediately employed and deployed to our health care facilities.

Wow.. This is a great move. Soludo is starting well. These are key things that are necessary to change the face of Onitsha. Especially ROADS.

Onitsha is a heavily developed city, but one of the things that deface it is bad roads and old buildings that the owners don't renovate.

IF SOLUDO can invest more on roads in Onitsha and Awka having good dual carriage roads/innercity roads with closed drainage and sidewalks, I tell you, he will write his name in Gold. Onitsha people just needs roads, they will do the rest.

Onitsha and AlaIgbo will rise.

This really is a none issue! If someone says his state is ‘premium state’, just read it and move on….after all, it’s their thread! Conversely, anyone taking offence at such a harmless designation can go to their own state thread, post a positive news report that shows their state in a good light, and likewise attach a ‘premium state’ status to their own state based on said report! We shouldn’t be spoiling for a fight over every little thing!

Commendations to Buhari for his infrastructure achievements he tried there but failed in security. In future, there is need for a third Niger bridge to bypass Onitsha completely to ease the traffic in the city.

That said, I call on our darling governor Prof Chukwuma Soludo to direct his commissioner for transport to enforce the ban on commercial motorcycles that is still in force but not been thoroughly enforced. Motorcycles have taken over the pedestrian walkway on the first Niger bridge and it is an aberration that should not be allowed to continue.

Thumbs up to Soludo’s media team. In fact whatever Soludo is doing on media,he should double it!
Those calling him ‘social media Governor’ are foolish illiterates without patience and are the enemies of Anambra.
I clearly see Facebook sponsors here and there about Anambra and Soludo’s governance. I see sponsored posts about his commissioners too educating ndi Anambra and also informing them. This is impressive I must say. Of course we are in the digital age...and both old and young have a registered presence on various social media platforms.

Can other Southeast states boast of their governor’s presence on social media? They should take a cue rather.

It was from Social media Soludo was able to pick the major complaints of ndi Anambra before his swearing in and till now. We can see the effect of those complaints...Soludo is crushing hungry and dirty looking touts in Anambra already...I learned that most agberos are now frustrated, some have gone mental, some have picked up hustles for themselves while some are still hiding and carrying out touting. These were same persons alleged to have been carrying out arson on our dear state and some criminality in some LG simply cos they were stopped from touting. Soludo must deal with them till the end. If Anambra is good today,it will so benefit us but if Anambra is bad today, the state will not be lovable for ndi Anambra both home and abroad. Soludo must not relent, whatever he’s doing to touts in the state he should triple it. Ndi Anambra must totally crush agberoism...it doesn’t speak well of us. That illegal job is one filled with serious curses on the tout and his generation unborn,so if your relation is an agbero...there’s a curse on y’all heads. Hardwork pays!
No govt should ever encourage agberoism again in the state of Anambra, there must be heavy campaign against that illegal and demonic job. Leave agberoism for the pple of southwest.

Kudos to Soludo’s media team.

Our ‘Social media Governor’ we hail and support you greatly...continue the excellent work of transforming Anambra.

@Pandax nobody will open up Awka if the pple of Öka don’t want to get sense and call the youths of öka to order. They should shun cultism and all manner of street gangsterism they engage in with those dirty Abakeleke boys they all befriend...that’s if they really want Awka to develop. But if not,Soludo should focus on our major economic hubs (Onitsha and Nnewi).

The same backward and local attitude they portrayed during Peter Obi’s tenure of wanting to construct a major road in the town. Some of those Awka boys stood against the construction of that important road..and I trust Peter Obi,he sent the military to scatter their rotten teeth and the road was finally constructed.
If Awka pple don’t want developement in the supposed state capital...Onitsha is fully ready. After all Onitsha looks more befitting to be ascribed a state capital. Ndi Awka must call themselves to order and shun all vices and blood spillage. No foreign developer/expatriates will want to dwell in such habitat.

Sit-st-Home: Onitsha Main Market extends market hours, converts touts to apprentice traders
By ofomata- August 18, 20220

The Caretaker Committee Chairman, Onitsha Main Market, Anambra State, Chief Innocent Ezeoha Ezennia has extended the market hours from 5 pm to 6 pm daily to cover up the paralysed business activities on Mondays due to the sit-at-home.

Fielding questions from newsmen in his office at Onitsha, he said that this step became necessary in view of the need for the traders to have more time to do their business and relax.

“Formerly the traders will be in a hurry because we close by 5 pm but now it is 6 pm, to enable them and their customers to have enough time to transact their business.”

On the cleanliness of the market as directed by the state government, he said “We have two standard trucks for evacuation of refuse in the market and personnel who we pay and they clean the market both morning and evening.

“We cleared the roads/streets in the market such that three vehicles can pass in a space of three lanes without obstruction. The previous administrations were not able to decongest Johnson street. I was the one that decongested it and sacked the touts in the market.

“Some of these touts are graduates and what we did was to convert most of them to be apprentice traders, so that after learning the trade, they will start their own.”

Chief Ezennia said that he purchased the long sitting chairs in the market secretariat hall, to change the image of the hall, noting that he inherited nothing on the assumption of office.

“I personally brought the INEC registration officials and four machines to make registration easy for traders and the machines were placed at the Secretariat for easy access.

“Our Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, is a game changer, that is the reason I am doing all these in the market, to better the condition of the traders in the market.

”I am directed to restore the lost glory of the market by the governor through the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr Obinna Ngonadi.”

He explained that they have three zones in the market with their leaders, adding that the market has a well-organized structure and standard, which makes administration easy.

Nwanne, it is becoming a serious issue and this is not who we are as a people.
If you notice, all of the anti ESN propaganda has been aimed at Anambra. There is a deliberate attempt by people who know more than you to put a wedge between Anambra ppl and the rest of the SE and the people doing it know that if you used a sweet tongue, the intention will work because Ndiigbo and their self esteem problems. They have identified Anambra as a weak link and if you know the geographical trap that is the SE and how it is designed, you will know why it is important to target Ndi Anambra.

Nigerians struggled in the war to break through what is now called Anambra. They don't want to struggle like that again. I know many ppl on here as small in their thinking but I have seen you posts in the past and know you can process what I'm saying well.

So nonsense like that has nothing to do with who we are as Ndiigbo. Anyi enweghi eze. Gini bu premium state. I si na nke gi bu premium, gwa anyi nke ndi ozo bu?
