My friend Jerusalem does not belong to Palestine. Be a student of history and stop coming here to display ur ignorance. Read history. EARLY HISTORY OF JERUSALEM Scholars believe the first human settlements in Jerusalem took place during the Early Bronze Age—somewhere around 3500 B.C. In 1000 B.C., King David conquered Jerusalem and made it the capital of the Jewish kingdom. His son, Solomon, built the first holy Temple about 40 years later. The Babylonians occupied Jerusalem in 586 B.C., destroyed the Temple, and sent the Jews into exile. About 50 years after that, the Persian King Cyrus allowed Jews to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple. Alexander the Great took control of Jerusalem in 332 B.C. Over the next several hundred years, the city was conquered and ruled by different groups, including the Romans, Persians, Arabs, Fatimids, Seljuk Turks, Crusaders, Egyptians, Mamelukes and Islamists. Some key events with religious implications that took place in Jerusalem during this period include: In 37 B.C., King Herod restructured the second Temple and added retaining walls to it. Jesus was crucified in the city of Jerusalem around 30 A.D. The Romans destroyed the second Temple in 70 A.D. In 632 A.D., Muhammad, the Islamic prophet, died and was said to have ascended to heaven from Jerusalem. Many European Christians started pilgrimages to Jerusalem in the 1st century A.D. From about 1099 to 1187, Christian crusaders occupied Jerusalem and deemed the city a major religious site. motikorede: 1 Like |

Who are the Palestine and where did they originate from? The Philistines (thought to be from Crete and, certainly, from the Aegean area) landed on the southern Mediterranean coast of the region known as Canaan in circa 1194 BCE after being repulsed in their invasion of Egypt (along with the Sea Peoples) by Rameses III. By 1185 BCE they had established themselves firmly in settlements along the coast known as Philistia. Other, older, settlements were already thriving in the area upon their arrival and the Philistines went quickly to work to subdue the area and benefit from the wealth there found. According to Biblical narratives, the Philistines were organized and efficient enough to cause the early Israelite tribes and cities a great deal of trouble. They were first defeated by the Israelite King David (c. 1000-960 BCE) but continued to thrive along the coast and harass their neighbors. |

GavelSlam: One veto power from US cancel all that votes. The process was a complete waste of time because it has change nothing. Jerusalem is the capital of Isreal. That's how UN works, other countries are zombies. 7 nations vote decides direction of any policy, if one out of the 7 nations veto the process is useless 2 Likes |

The decision of trump to recognise Jerusalem as Isreal's capital is just as vindictive as repealing Obama care. It is a no brainer and only trouble makers will benefit from it. Isreal's and Palestinians must live together on equal ground and fairness for peace to reing in that region. 1 Like |

redsun: The word, Palestinians, is a propaganda which its time has expired. Jordan, the 77% part of British Mandate for Palestine, was mapped out for Islamized Arabs while 33% for Jews. All the areas which had been claimed by so-called refugees known as Palestinians were occupied by Egypt, Jordan or Syria after 1948 Israeli/Arab war. 1 Like |

This is how US will deal with Nigeria. 1. Stop buying Nigeria crude. 2. Stop aid to Nigeria from health to security . 3. Declear that Brafia needs a referendum.... 4. Southern Nigeria has a right to control its oil resources. 1 Like |

If I should speak from the perspective of a common Nigerian who links all issues to tribe or religion (as in Innoson vs GTBank) , I would say that President Trump knew that his declaration would not be accepted by the world, he only wanted to terrorise the Muslims. Sanction this, sanction that, nothing significant will happen. He simply played the bully. Abeg na only Boko haram suppose dey throw bomb? #Peace is priceless. |

ALMUSTAQIM: Palestine is not even a state much less having a capital. Ask the Arabs how the six day war turned out. You will be surprised to realize to your shock that 1 can sometimes be greater than 6. USA and Israel are an unbeatable pair. You can go on ranting for eternity. Deal with the boko Haram you created and your killer Fulani herdsmen brothers before talking about far away Palestine 1 Like |

resurgentxtian4: Actually you don't understand how nations relates with each other, but I'm not gonna lecture you for free. Meanwhile, Jerusalem isn't even yet settled. Because a single country choose to recognize it doesn't mean it is a done deal. That was demonstrated at the UN when the US and Trump was roundly defeated. So, to the international community Jerusalem is still the capital of a two nation, Israel and Palestine. QED. Nothing has changed. |

MikaelsonRx: You are absolutely right. With elements of surprise Israel defeated them within 6 days. The Arab commanders were ill prepared as well. However, same Israeli military couldn't defeat paramilitary forces in Jordan called Hezbollah in 2006. This ragtag group was able to withstand a more advanced and better prepared, better equipped Israeli military for 34 days. Nobody need to belittle any force anymore in these modern days. In the same vein, any country can be defeated by any country in any conventional war. Still, war is never the right solution to modern days issues and disagreements. Military power has never solved issues. |
