please I urgently need your advice on this... I got my visa 2016 with my 2 kids for vacation b4 i got pregnant and decided to go have my baby in the us..fast forward august 2018 , i took my other son that doesn't have visa to embassy to get his own visa and my own visa was revoked that I got vacation visa instead I went to give birth and she also requested for itemised bill ..I showed her the one I got from the hospital and my zero balance she rejected it .....my problem now is that my son that is American citizen needs to do a minor surgery on his testes when I took him to the doctor for check up ...I don't want to do the surgery here in nigeria but I don't have visa and I don't know how to go about it ...please what do I do?
You could go to another country to get the surgery done. There are a couple of countries that rival the United States in technology and technical know how.

am just asking how possible it is for me to get visa since I don't want to do the suggery here in nigeria since it concerns their citizen. ..I plan to contact the hospital where he was born too

Whether it can be done here or not is irrelevant. If you can afford it have the surgery in the US... You owe it to your child to not compromise on quality, we all know how our hospitals in Nigeria are, even the so called big ones are no better.

In her words, the surgery is not major. The baby can't travel alone even if she can afford it and of course she can from the message. But do we jeopardize the health of the little one. Since it's minor, there are private hospitals that can do it. My worry is the health of the baby; we shouldn't allow it to degenerate. The mum can always get her visa in future. Alternatively she can travel to another advanced country but with her visa revoked, she may need to provide the info when filling out her application.

I think the possibility of getting visa lies solely on the discretion of the US embassy. I don't think the hospital can interfere with visa issue other than provide the papers to show he was born there and your bills. But Contact them and hope for the best.

I sympathize with you on this. But the fact is your American citizen can't travel to US alone and your visa has been revoked. I advise you go and find out more on the reason for refusal and how long it will take to reapply. If it's 6 months and above , you have to decide maybe your boy can wait that long before having the surgery or not. If not, research specialist hospital in Nigeria or outside Nigeria(apart from America) that can handle the case. You will eventually get your Visa back but you have to calm down , think through the whole thing and do what's best for your ill son. I think the VO are stricter than ever before, probably because of new directives. I wish you best of luck in your decision.

Oh wow. I will call tomorrow to just check. Meanwhile I have given them an address to mail it to them the person will scan it to me. Hopefully that works...

Just wondering has anyone ever been denied visa and was granted visa when he/she reapplied?

Yes, I was denied visa after I got 221g in Abuja and reapplied within 4months and got it back in Lagos with my itemized bills a d zero balance letters.

No biggie, let her just follow the same process married women follow too, the only difference in her case would be that she won't have a marriage certificate to present,(Dr & hospital correspondence, have enough money to cover the trip, get accommodation, get strong ties to home country, prepare budget sheet etc)

They can also go to the registry and get a marriage certificate if he truly wants to marry girlfriend in case marriage certificate is asked for.
But am not sure it's not always asked for, she can still apply like a married woman and the guy will serve as a tie back here as well as her job or business. Get doctors/ hospital correspondences, bank statement and other relevant documents.

Both of you can go together you being the sponsor.
if asked your relationship say she is your girl friend and both of you are expecting a baby and that is the reason you are traveling, she should also get letter of introduction from her school.

Thank you so much.
Do you think she could provide my statement of account or that of her family? By the way, she is currently a PhD student, not working.

Good morning house,

My wife had a baby in June, i want to renew my visa as the one year Dropbox window for me will elapse in November. Her visa will expire in January.

Can we both renew together in November though her visa is still valid?

Do we need to include all the payment receipts, itemized bills in the application?

If called for interview will it be the two of us appearing..

House please advise is needed
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by chibertha(f): 1:44pm On Sep 29, 2018
Yes you can both apply together.
At the time of getting the Dropbox invite you will see the documents to provide.

[quote Now they are paying to rectify it but the process is not making sense. I don't know if at the time of birth you can put in a Nigerian adresss or it only takes US addresses just to suffer someone later. Her other child that was born in another State does not have address on the birth certificate. I have never been to California nor researched anything about their hospitals because in my head a big place like that will be deathly expensive.[/quote]

Hello House
This is the new strategy they use in denying people visa cos they know Naija don’t read deep,it’s as if they sat down in their strategic meeting and said yes let’s use the birth registration handbook page 17 states . They now give time to go bring the previous baby birth certificate so they will have an excuse. Mailing address should be USA address while the other address should be Naija address on the birth certificate. Please take note for those that care to. People are being denied visa but surprised it’s not discussed on the forum.

@mummyethan, God bless you!

Thanks very much for this.

I've heard of this birth certificate address thing being an issue for someone else earlier this year.....and visa was denied....VOs have a valid excuse reason to reject a mum who fills in a US address as her permanent address.......conclusion is that the person is potentially claiming residency for medicaid or other benefits.

For passport app....item 8 on the passport form DS11 asks for mailing address and then item 19 asks for permanent address.... which should be the Nigerian address.

B1 is for Business and B2 is for tourism/medical. B2 alone suffices for holiday, no need to apply for a B1/B2.

ozycy:

if you plan to travel for vacation, select B1/B2 and make sure you travel for that vacation. if you don't intend to travel for vacation, you can go ahead and pick same B2 and wait for pregnancy to happen. If called for interview, explain your self. or you just wait till you are pregnant before reapplying if you still have some time left.

I made the mistake for first child but second child we corrected it. You leave it like that if you already put usa address, but Oakbend is willing to change for a friend that was denied visa cos of birth certificate but she must come herself (tricky) the mum will go to see what can be done. Embassy told her she claimed residency on the child by using USA address to get small NICU bill.Four pple denied on same reason even husband’s are not left out, they tell the husband to bring the previous child certificate.

Is it the hospital that corrects it?
Since addresses change can't one just apply for another birth certificate with naija address?

I made the same mistake. And I have visa interview at abuja in a month's time for childbirth. I don't know if there is something I can do to change the birth certificate before then.

Good day bro. I will advise you have your old DS160 form with you when filling another form so that all info tallies. Since you mention your cousin in the first form ,you may still do same now and emphasize that she will stay with him till you join her for the delivery. Again you can add your BofA account balance with your Nigerian Bank(s) balance as part of your cash. Wherever it's coming from; yours or your wife's, add everything because you need to show this time that you are ready for any eventuality as per hospital bills since you had already mentioned that your wife's pregnancy is high risk. It means if all your proposed expenses is 18K in your budget sheet, ensure you have account balances of like 28K. I wish you all the very best in the next interview.
