Oh really..what risk did u have? And was it this year?( if u don’t mind sharing). Do u think I should apply alone first, get the visa, and then my husband applies later as an escort? (Ps: I am not mentioning that I have relatives over there, so I should need my husband I guess)

Yup, this year (not comfortable sharing details). I think you should just apply with your husband since you’d need all the help you can get for a high risk pregnancy.

Don’t mention mama!

I left three weeks after delivery (this was the earliest I could leave). I wasn’t bothered about time frame because the passport was to be posted to a family member’s house. I didn’t plan to wait for the passport at all. I didn’t call the passport office. At the post office, I just wrote a letter stating that my husband and I need to travel out with the baby as we aren’t US residents and we both signed it. I don’t know if you can call them to hasten the passport (so sorry, I don’t have more info on this). I’d advice you pay for all the fast track and expedited services related to the passport. That’s what I did.

Thank you so much dear! I’ve already applied for the passport! Wanted to call them as adviced by those I did passport with

What I did was book an appointment with the passport agency. If you have urgent international travel you can do this but appointment is limited. You need to be traveling within 2 weeks to book an appointment. You also need to have your baby travel itinerary. It cost &175 and you get your passport that day

Hi Demmy2021! I have already applied for the passport. Had a walk in with a district county office where my sister did hers. But the issue is after everything, before leaving, I told them my concern about fast tracking the passport and they were like I should call them and tell them about my travel so they can hasten it. Do u think I’ll still need another appointment when I’ve done everything already? I have my tickets ready

Please guys I also need some advice. 2 years ago when I came back to Nigeria after having my child, I used visa on arrival and was practically embarrassed at Nigeria when I went to pay for the visa on arrival. They kept claiming that visa on arrival must be paid with a foreign card, bearing the name of the person that needs the VOA

Now, concerning ETC, I don’t know which one to follow. We’re you stopped at the airport to pay again for ETC? Or did they just allow you pass with baby? Do you advice I go through ETC even after getting baby’s passport or what should I do? Just confused coz seems VOA is cheaper and could be paid in Nigeria coz the dollar rate isn’t smiling now because it’ll warrant dollars being sent to me from Nigeria . I need advice
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by babestell(f): 1:52pm On Sep 13, 2021
ETC is a document used instead of a passport. especially for people who have lost their passports or are in an emergency. you pay for it at the point of issue. Technically since you are carrying a minor, baby should be able to just pass with it with little or no challenge from customs. ETC is $150 from the website which is almost the same price we paid for VOA. besides VOA has been discontinued for returning minors and Nigerians

I used VOA 4 years ago and there was no issue. I.paid with cash at the airport. Heard years down the line, there were issues though. But I called the immigration officer who helped me then, and he said the issue has been addressed, and now you won't need to pay at the airport cos the officer would have made the payment for you while doing the processing.

I know someone who travelled with VOA few months back, so I think the issue has been sorted now

Good day house. I am planning on going to Virginia for birthing my baby. I have checked around for hospitals and Obyns, the most prominent ones i found is Dr Fitzgugh and Henrico doctors. This is good but the prices are quite low and i am wondering if ppl who used these facilities had issues with visa renawal due to low cost. Appreciate if any one can give me contact of other Obgyns and Hospitals in Richmond Virginia.

Good evening everyone. Congrats to the new moms. Please I will like to ask if anybody has used any of the Nigerian Birth Tourism Service Companies before. All those ones that help you handle your international birth processes. Please can you recommend? Or you advice I ditch them and just do my thing myself?

Sorry for my late response, I was on the move back to naija. To answer your question, I think so. Because they will ask for your appointment confirmation before they allow you in at the agency.

I got to the agency at 9am and because I was traveling the next day I was asked to come back to pick the passport at 1pm that same day

ETC is pretty straightforward. If you are using Washington DC allow 7 days of processing time if you are sending your application by mail.

You only need to compile all your documents, include a money order ($150) and include a prepaid return envelope. I sent mine on the 30th August and it was sent back on the 7th September and I received it on the 9th September. ( there was a weekend in between and a public holiday).

Also, if your husband is not around to sign the application consent letter, use is scanned signature and print and then you sign yours

If the passport you have is a Nigerian passport for the baby, you do not need ETC/VOA.

If you plan for visa on arrival, ensure you have a document to enable the baby board the plane, if not youRr baby would be denied boarding.

If you use ETC, make such you snap a picture of it when you submit at immigration at POE in Nigeria, as it would be required for baby’s passport in future.
