Lol... Afonjas have been playing tribal politics even in 1993, did anyone notice how every yoruba states voted Abiola meanwhile northern states like kano and kaduna voted against a fellow northerner.

How about, "everyone voted for the popular candidate"?

Mmmmmmm?

I remember how a certain Jonathan carried all Yoruba states (except Osun) in 2011.

Hope you're not too young to remember?

What is mypic politic there? Tofa was ran under the NRC and his NRC governors in Igboland delivered their states. Ogbonnaya Onu (Abia), Okwesilieze Nwodo (Enugu) and Evans Enwerem (Imo).
The remaining state voted for Abiola , the sdp presidential candidate

Take your advice to Yorubas. If you look at the votes above, SE and SS voted massively for Abiola; a southerner. Yorubaas are the ones dividing the South; not SS or SE. Yoruba is the problem as facts show from their actions.
Massively? its like you should go and calsulate it again cause it one of three things
1You don't know the meaning of massively
2.You don't know the Geo political zones
3.You are really bad at maths.

True.

But the aftermath was that a Southerner OBJ was handed the Presidency on a platter of gold through an election.
He still failed woefully. And here we are today.
GEJ won an election even though he is a Southerner as well. I believe there is more to it that region of origin. It is a class war between the elites and commoners. The elites are united by lootocracy while the commoners find solace in wailing (after selling their voting rights for N1k and a few cups of rice).
/

I get your point but I am more focused on the domino effect the crisis had on us.

You and I know that Obasanjo was not the real choice of southerners. IBB and co just brought him out of jail, took over PDP and foisted him on the party. It helped douse tension because at that time the SW was READY to secede but it made us all very tribe conscious. Or at least made South/North divide much wider

Yet they always say we betrayed the south. I always say it that iboes gave their vote to obasanjo in 1999 because they had no choice. The two main candidates running for president were Yoruba. Assuming obasanjo ran against a northerner like Atiku, they wouldn't have given Obasanjo their vote. They are known to lick northerners ass
Exactly ,their hatred for Yoruba's dates way back and this is a tribe that will never stay at home, land encroachers,Lagos is a no mans land, yen yen yen yen.their hatred hasn't reached the level of them leaving afonja land,HYPOCRITES.

is it that over 30 states voted for Abiola you need to go back and check that result and this time do it properly.

One of the evils of IBB. If he had allowed the election to stay, Abiola would have moved Nigeria forward. I do not know why God is still keeping the man. His VP, Aikhomu is dead.
Re: June 12, 1993 Election Results By States (Photos) by BBPIA(m): 7:29am On Jan 08, 2018
Point 1, Igbos didn't think of Southern unity when they massively voted against a Yoruba man.

Point 2, it was freedom of choice for them because Tofa was a Nigerian...which is very good

Igbos logic:::

Yorubas are betrayals for voting against a southerner in 2015

It is treacherous for the Yorubas to have exercised their freedom of choice in voting Buhari, a Nigerian

Inference ::

Hypocrisy of the Igbos

To those out there moved by the subtle e-blackmail of the Yorubas by the Igbos, this thread is for you.

After digesting the content of this thread, which before now, I wasn't aware of, I can't categorically state that southern political unity is a mirage, unrealistic and unachievable.

Igbos should count Yorubas out of their support base in their quest for the presidential seat whether now or in the future

Voter turnout was higher in the south than in the north. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Moshood Abiola received over 8 million votes, and won in 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The National Republican Convention (NRC) candidate Alhaji Bashir Tofa received over 6 million votes and won in 10 states only. Over 14 million people voted. Abiola won in Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kwara, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Taraba, and Yobe states, and the Federal Capital Territory. Tofa won in Abia, Adamawa, Bauchi, Enugu, Imo, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Niger, Rivers and Sokoto States.

Abiola’s victory was comprehensive as he won almost 60% of the total votes cast. Only in two states (Kebbi and Sokoto) did Abiola fail to obtain at least one-third of the votes. Abiola even defeated Tofa in Tofa’s home state of Kano.

Whenever an election approaches we see yorubas on NL posting all manner of silly propaganda threads that they think will somehow paint Igbos in a bad light. We have permanently damaged their 1966 coup lies now they want to use June 12 elections grin

Igbos fought for Abiola's mandate just as hard as yorubas did. It is on record that while some yoruba elders and intelligentsia were sneaking into aso rock to collect envelopes from abacus and betray their son, some Igbos stood firm with Abiola till the very end.

If you want to be smart by half na you sabi, if you want to be a hater, it's your choice but you will not tell lies against Igbos without us puncturing your garbage.

1. Yoruba also fought against June 12. Abimbola Davies was the chairman of Association for Better Nigeria (ABN). Nzeribe was a member. ABN was the group that went to court to declare the election null and void before IBB finally scuttled it.

2. An Igbo man organised a March for abacha but Abacha's number 2 man Oladipo Diya was from where? Abacha's minister of justice Olu Onagoruwa was from where.

If you want to point hypocritical fingers you will get double pointed right back at you. Do you know the input that Igbos made towards the struggle for June 12? Don't get me started

My people stop replying this swines!
eboes are chronic slaves to d North.
They are known backstabbers.
They are only frustrated because their tiny cave man brain is far below that of any Yoruba man.
The whole eboe land cannot even dominate d smallest village in the great Yoruba tribe.

They are known cowards from time immemorial.
Great tribes are known from time to explore further thereby engaging in war(wining and losing) and confrontations e.g Romans, Yorubas, Egypt, Greeks, German,... But none can be said of this sissy cowards.
They rather stay in there hamlet and let ijaws and other surrounding tribes fight for them. The only history about them is of the slave trade. hence the reason why they must asslick aboki yansh.

Any where you hear "West", things ascribed to it are enlightenment, progress, democracy, prosperity, freedom,...
hence, the reason they tag America, Europe, and in Nigeria, Yorubas.

But east- chaos, war, hatred, slavery, primitive, backwardness, discord, suffering,...
That's why you hear, middle east, eastern Europe(the backward part of Europe), India, Pakistan, Iraq, Somali, Eritrea, Burundi, and in Nigeria(you know who the easterners are)

So my western brothers, we are progressive and lets leave these flat headed swines to slavery and ass licking, it's in there blood. If u bath a pig, it will still go back to d shits and lick shit just like d eboes shocked
