Since a person now needs permission to share RCCG "Open Heavens" then RCCG should also take permission to Sing Sinach, Kirk Franklin, Tope Alabi etc songs during Service. I love RCCG dearly but this was a real blunder. Pls come out and denounce that Memo!

I thought Freeze said Pastor Adeboye is a businessman? So how come the Open Heaven written by the 'businessman' is now the "Word of God" that must be freely shared. He only ended up turning logic on its head.

This guy is just a confused being and is purely on an attack mission. He started with no tithing, yet he wants materials distributed free of charge; is the church going to turn paper to money or tell the printing press staff to work free of charge? At 3 employees per branch of rccg, the church will be paying salaries of not less than 100,000 staff!

There is no book reproduced in any form, even Gideon bibles and other free materials, without getting the permission of the author, and that is pretty much what the memo says.

Freeze should be careful not to overstep boundaries into irrelevant territories. There's a thin line between being an objective critic and a hater who just feels a compulsion to criticise everything. I see nothing wrong with religious organisations selling religious literature (for profit) if they so wish. Besides, the sale of some of these materials is actually the main income earner of the authors besides any gifts they receive from their followers.

The news or noise here would have been louder if anyone complaining sought permission and they were denied for no reason.
I have been receiving an Open Heavens devotional messages on Whatsapp from a brother, but rather than present it verbatim, he adds addendum. To me, such needs to be moderated.

Some unscrupulous individuals resell this literature at a higher price in order to make a profit. The church sells at a profit to be able to keep producing more copies, but these other people who hawk it are a menace.

There's nothing wrong with the permission.

It's intellectual property.

Some people cull it, rename and resell it at exorbitant prices. That's blatant plagiarism. There are others who just resell it at wild prices, making it look as though it is the church who sell it at such a price.

If the devotional is made available on WhatsApp, what will happen to all the hard copies they have paid the publisher for?

It goes beyond it seeming like a decision that is against the grain of Christianity. After all, you bought your Bible, didn't you? And if you didn't, someone paid for it. Nothing is free.

The church should allow free sharing of devotionals so far it's not for monetary gains. 
This clarifies and reflects the spirit behind the church's efforts of publishing such devotional- to spread the gospel or otherwise for monetary gains

We get The Gideon Bible free and we don't misuse it. Oga, your analysis doesn't have any association with the word of God. And paying money on it is not even an assurance that it won't be used to exchange kulikuli. I still remember that those publications do expire. After they expire, how do they differ from guguru papers?

Do you know that the production and sales of this book is what is putting food on the table if many families monthly. Have you ever thought about how some people would get relieved of their jobs if sharing of the devotional continues Cos the turnout of people buying will be so low because they are already getting for free through a medium
