This is not exactly true. Fertility chick stated how they came about their ratings. They wrote their opinions and voted the clinics based on member feedback.
If you read the one they did this yr, they asked for people to state their personal experience in each of these clinics too.

Nope i was personally in that very clinic when both the owner of Fertility Chick and one other lady came in, introduced what they do and had a chat with with of the Doctors who happened to be a junior doctor there....

They did not ask any penetrating questions or request for a tour only for them to go and publish an in-accurate information about the clinic.....This i know personally i wasn't told, i witnessed it

Mention those two or three government-owned hospitals that are tested, proven and affordable.
It may help others

Several teaching hospitals now offer the service. University of Benin Teaching Hospital IVF Centre has had some success in recent years. Especially with Prof. Augustine Orhue. He's now retired. I guess his colleagues like Prof. Aziken & Prof. Osemwenkha are still there.

I work at DIFF and my opinion is not based on the fact that I work here but my opinion is based on my experience at DIFF. Your one terrible experience cannot and shouldn't be used as a yard stick to classify a facility as OVERRATED.

OVERRATED in terms of? There are patients who come from other fertility clinics with one or more complain about how they were treated, but that is not an excuse or one cannot sign and seal the facility as being what YOU think based on experiences.

If you had a bad experience at any facility, not just DIFF, it is your duty to report to relevant personnel so that your next visit will be a memorable one.

no be say say you talk my bro DIFF is and will always be my best..

No dear. You know it varies. No real govt subsidy on fertility treatment.
But conact UBTH IVF centre on these numbers: 08022160312; 08022535595

08065001008; 08153857887.

Or Prof. Orhue in private capacity on :08164124696. Or if you live in Benin area, just stroll into his private Hospital, St Augustine at 51 Uwasota Street (Off New Lagos Road, not that far from UBTH), Benin City.

Or Prof Aziken in Private capacity on :: 08037271271.

I got these phone numbers a couple of years ago. I just pass them on to anyone who might need it. Some of the numbers may not be working anymore.

To have a child to call one’s own is one of the most powerful innate drives known to the human adult. Should there be fertility challenges standing in the way of this dream, the emotional, financial and physical strain that ensues in the course of surmounting them can be incredibly daunting.

While the majority of couples will have no problem conceiving through natural reproductive means, the World Health Organization reports that one in five couples in the world have infertility.

Thankfully, advances in reproductive health has led to the rise of assisted reproductive technology, and with this development, couples having fertility challenges still have a chance to carry that bundle of joy, and put back happiness into their marriage and lives.

There are a number of clinics offering fertility services in Nigeria, and determining which of these to choose can itself be an uneasy task.

Using a series of relevant variables, we have compiled a ranking of fertility clinics in Nigeria, with a view to assisting prospective parents make informed decision on their choice of fertility service provider.

The variables used are:
1. Range of Service
2. Quality of Physicians
3. Accessibility of Physicians
4. Availability of Embryology Laboratory and Embryologists in the Clinic
5. State-of-the-art Technology
6. Advanced Genetic Screening
7. Psychological Support during Treatment
8. Psychological Support (Post-Treatment)
9. Quality of Ancillary Staff
10. Success Rate
11. Affordability
12. Pricing Transparency
13. Quality Management/Certification
14. International Affiliation
15. Customer Service
16. Number of Clinics
17. Online Presence

We also made visits to get a first impression account of some of the Nigerian fertility clinics.

Like I said, they wrote their opinion of the hospitals and then did ranking based on members feedback. You can either go with their opinions or go with feedback from members, your choice. Mostly, I read comments and use that as an aid.

I maintain my position, DIFF is overrated. You work there and so you have a duty to defend them. My experience wasn't pleasant and so I cannot sugarcoat it. I have been to other fertility clinics and I can categorically say that in terms of follow up those facilities do better jobs than DIFF. For instance, your collaboration with Salt foundation and the fire brigade approach you handle patients without thoroughly preparing them for their cycles, I have interacted with other women who had the same complaints. You can't just do blood works at any day of the cycle or go ahead with IVF treatments without attending to underlying medical issues.

Exactly my thoughts! I noticed that it's so pro-Nordica that I was wondering if they sponsored the survey.

I'm not trying to conceive, but from women who have experience, these are the rankings

1. For greatest success in sex selection: Medical Arts
2. Most humane: St Georges
3. Most professional: Olive

Bridge has equipment.

Well said!

I wouldn't recommend Nigerian clinics. They don't provide the needed quality of service, though the price is on the same level as in the majority of Asian countries. Just check the prices here and make the conclusion Pharmavaccs.co.uk.

This is most certainly not true! Based both on research and my personal experience, Nigeria can boast of IVF clinics that are of international standard. You cannot even begin to talk about or compare our clinics with Asia's. For example, I have seen with my own 'korokoro' eyes, white patients at the Olive Branch clinic and I'm sure others like them patronize our other clinics. Such would never subject themselves to substandard treatment. Nordica is also internationally recognized. Bridge Nigeria, is ISO certified; I could go on about many other Nigerian clinics.

Quite a number of Nigerians having had failed cycles in Asia, Europe, America, etc. now come home and end up having SUCCESSFUL treatment cycles in the very clinics you are maligning. From which standpoint you are actually talking is unknown and it's doubtful that you have EVER even been to any Nigerian IVF clinic because several women have come to this forum to give step-by-step accounts with verifiable protocols of their successful IVF treatments in NIGERIAN clinics.
