A 35-year-old man has been remanded by Chief magistrate's court in Damaturu, Borno State for supposedly raping his little sisters-in-law and impregnating one of the girls, KINGSLEY IWU reports.

Sgt Hayatu Musa, the police prosecutor, told the court that the alleged rapist, Mohammad Baushe, was exposed to the police by his father-in-law, Baba Ibrahim, who is the father of the female minors.

He explained that Ibrahim told the Police Criminal Investigation Department that Baushe, alias Gareji, of forestry area in Damaturu lured his two daughters and had carnal knowledge of the two girls.

Musa said the supposed rapist, who lived in the same compound with the girls, began abusing each of two female minors sexually when they were under four years old until they reached 9 and 12 years.

“The parents got to know about the abuse when the elder sister was diagnosed to be six months pregnant, and identified the accused as the owner of pregnancy,” he said.

When the FIR was read to the alleged rapist, he pleaded guilty as charged, thereby committing an offence contrary to sections 275 and 283 of the panel code law.

Abubakar Lamba Maluri, the presiding magistrate, requested for more evidence that would prove the case beyond reasonable doubt and adjourned the case to February 4, 2018 for hearing.
