The Oral Roberts stuff is an outreach program...just like DOF...

They can't admit all the kids of their members into the school, it's just not possible...schools have a maximum carrying capacity...

Even the governments of countries can't educate all their citizens for free...
In the USA, UK Canada and some other countries, there are financial aids which are payable with interests after school as soon as you get a job...yet you want chruches to give free education...

Whatever Salvation Ministry brings can't last the test of time...no one will tell them to start charging fees...
Even if they never pay tuition, it can't make as much stride as CU, LMU, Redeemers that are funded by tuitions, IGR and church funding...

No one is entitled to free education(except from the government)...

Fight the government for free education(you and millions of other Nigerians are axed compulsorily, VAT etc.) not the churches who are even trying to cover the shame of the government
You made a very important point in your first paragraph. Even if the school don't charge a dime majority of members kid won't still make the admission list for reason of space..

My dear, the truth is always better, if you don't understand me, the main purpose of the Church is to care for the needy amongst the society (in the Church) the same school everybody contributed to build can only be attended by the rich children, even the children of the politicians who do not want to send their children abroad, it means the church is encouraging the corruption in the society.

The Government is responsible for all our basic amelities, road, power etc, with the tax, what is the benefit of the Church to the immediate members in need from the all the money they make, especially the big Churches?

A true Christian practice do not discriminate, both the poor and rich are equal so charging a school fee for #500,000 for a church school where over 70% of the members can't afford means the church do not know them.

Yes the Church school can train all the youths if the fees are affordable and this will reduce the crime rate in the society, moreover it will discourage our politicians from stealing our money.

Ok, politician's kids should be screened out...that's understandable.

Please permit me to add that Bishop Oyedepo said no ones tithes and offering was used in building CU.
http://m.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/News/Speaker-Dogara-Charges-Students-on-Talent-Discovery-as-Covenant-University-Matriculates-1-702
A whole lot of people donated, yet they don't feel entitled to free education there.

I'm sure winners chapel has over 20k youths, covenant university can't carry more than 6000, then what happens to the remaining 14k+, they'll start saying they were cheated...
The truth is people can never be satisfied, there's always an insatiable want, even if their tuition is reduced to 50k...they'll still come and say it should be free for all(na our tithe and offering and sweat we take build am)

And I don't see how it will discourage the politicians from stealing...

Oyedepo tries, it's not by force to go to covenant or landmark universities...he gives scholarships to students yearly to study at CU and LMU...and I've heard he puts some through public schools too...

Permit me to ask, have you been to covenant university before?

No I did not mean the politician children should be screened out but it's very wrong to see that politicians are the same people embassellng our money that can afford the school feels from their loots.

My point is if I am a member of a church and my church own a school of which I contributed to build, the fees for school should be such that my child can attend the school.
Church school should be affordable to all members irrespective of your status, that is why it's Church School.
if all the big churches in Nigeria do this, the crime rate will not be this high.
Talking of scholarship, if you give scholarship to 10 persons out of 1000 or more does not make any difference.

Donations weren't forced, they were voluntary...
Covenant university isn't meant for everyone...

No one is entitled to anything from anyone but the government.
Can't you give without expecting to receive?
Let's assume my dad donated 10k to CU, does that myself and all my siblings have to school there for free?

Let's take musicians as a case study, I'm sure Kirk Franklin, Don Meon, Donnie McClurkin and the rest made money off the poor people(as you all would say) who bought their tracks and albums; does that mean they are entitled to come spend summer holidays, Thanksgiving and the rest in the homes of those artistes?

NB: They used the money from the album sales and the rest to acquire these properties...that doesn't mean people have a right, nothing is free.

I keep mentioning government owned institutions like Kwasu and Edo University, Iyamho that charge high prices, yet no one has been able to lash out on the government for building schools that the tax payers can't afford. Isn't that double standard on it's own?

The sad thing is schools like CU are technically cheaper than their so called state and federal uni. The point here is that they don't give scholarship to all admitted students yet. They give scholarship to some students and make the remaining students pay the equivalent of the service the average student enjoys.
The problem with most ignorant folks is that
1) They don't understand that the standard is high and requires fund to maintain
2) The govt unis they compare private unis with are heavily subsidized with relatively little to show for it.
3) the church too subsidizes most of their schools.

The church doesn't owe the society or members the way you are putting it.
So what happens when people who paid N2000 average towards church building show up to enjoy N4-5 million worth of service. Who pays the rest? Who is that 'fool' with no relatives to sponsor? You want the pastors who work as full time ministers to go out and source the remaining for you with their 'connection' while you sit there with your N2,000 or N100 tithe booklet and claim member. Your sense of entitlement is highly flawed sir

Exactly, you hit the nail right...

CU and LMU are among the cheapest private universities in Nigeria in comparison to others(ABUAD, Babcock, AUN...) that are performing well.

My friend at Edo university pays over 800k for pharmacy in a state owned school despite government funding...

They all fail to realize that running a secondary school doesn't come cheap, not to talk of a full blown tertiary institution.

...even ordinary Elizade and BellsTech that are hardly performing pay close to 800k...yet they want CU to be free...

Spot on...
If they feel entitled to free education...with the N100 offerings, then someone like Hon. Yakubu Dogara who donated his 6months salary specifically to covenant university should be entitled to be on the board of regents and do whatever he pleases with the school.
He should be able to shut it down or have free education for his extended family...

You can't just always feel entitled to something...
Like I always say, 'no one owes you anything; but the government'.

How To Graduate With First Class In Any University

Graduating from the university with a first class degree has been one of the impossible attainments for so many graduates over the years. This is often caused by the way they took their academics at the start of their first year. First class students will attest to the fact that anyone can graduate with the first class if the person chooses to do so and is determined to get it.

What that mean is that, instead of building Churches every where, they should build schools and make them affordable so that the poor, the widow in the Church are not left out, and that is when you are doing God's work, when it's only the rich that can attend your Schools, even when they contributed to build the school, then it's no longer God's work

Then in this case, you should not call it a Church, you should not have collected from the poor, the #100 from the poor person could be her #1000000, it's this donations from the likes of Mr. Dogara that should make it more easier for the affordable fees
