Chelsea and Valencia have never met before in any European Cup competition.

Chelsea have played nine European home matches against clubs from Spain and have lost only once, winning seven and drawing one. The loss came on 22 February 2006 when the Blues were defeated 1-2 at Stamford Bridge by Barcelona in the round of the last 16.
