That way.... codeine based cough syrup will sell for up to 1000/bottle.
All i will advice d govt do is control it... and reduce d content in each bottle..
So when people dont get d high.... they will stop buying it

The Codeine Menace definitely cuts across all tribes but my question is why drug abuse is really more prevalent among the Northerners?

Even at a place in Lagos called Alaba-Rago. You need to hang around these Northern Youths to see the dexterity they deploy in coming up with creative new ways of drug abuse. Codeine might be the popular topic today but there are other substance abuse these guys get involved in even some of the Western Youths. I see this is more prevalent among uneducated people.

codein is part of the ingredient and is an opiod. Opiod acts in thesame way cocaine act on the body. That is why it causes thesame euphoria effects as cocaine. It is cheap and easily accessible compared to cocaine hence the patronage. The advantage is that at little quantity it has therapeutic effect that heals cough but at high dose it cause damage unlike cocaine that causes damage even at low doses
Opioids do not exactly act in the same way as cocaine. The only common effect they both have is their ability to cause euphoria since they both cause a build Up of dopamine in the brain. Dopamine acts on neurones that are responsible for pleasure and euphoria. Aside that, their effects on other systems e.g CVS, are actually contradictory.
