CAN Reacts To Trump’s Warning To Buhari On Killing Of Christians by 9Ebisco: 7:55am On May 02, 2018
The Christian Association of Nigeria has commended the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump for condemning killing of Christians in Nigeria.

During a joint press conference with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, Trump said the“killing of Christians in Nigeria was unacceptable” to the American government.

Reacting, CAN in a statement issued by its spokesman, Pastor Bayo Oladeji, noted that Trump told Buhari the right thing to do.

He, however, said if Buhari does not sit up and protect Christians, they will defend themselves.

Oladeji said, “We are happy that President Trump has told President Buhari the right thing to do. We hope and believe President Buhari would do the right thing and sit up. He has to sit up.

“Every time we tell them Christians are being killed, they don’t want to listen, but that is the truth. If the President cannot protect Christians, we have two options, we fight back.

“The law of the land permits self-defence. Secondly, come 2019, we vote him out. If he says there is nothing Christians can do, let him dare us.”

CAN is playing a dangerous game of politics with religion; we all know that no one is currently being killed because of their faith, in fact more Muslims are being killed than Christians; therefore giving the ongoing crisis a religious colouration is potentially explosive likely to further divide Nigerians along the usual fault lines - before we know it , we could easily revert back to those unfortunate days of religious intolerance and rioting.

It is unfair to say More Muslims are been killed. Do you mean in the North East or Benue, Taraba, or Plateau. Those places are heavily populated by Christians. 90% of the Chibok girls are Christians, Leah Sharibu was held back because of her Christian beliefs, remember BH was bombing churches like mad. Even Churches in the South were apprehensive and started putting heavy security in place. If MURIC, MSSN, Imams had started heavy protest in the past, it wouldn't have had this religious colouration. Two Fathers were killed last week plus parishioners, their houses ransacked.
Buhari was practically forced to go to Benue in all this and he was practically forced to send the army there and they haven't been able to make any difference.

Instead of the Muslims to add their voice to the killings, Ishaq Akintola will threaten Christians while Sultan will wait to announce sighting of the moon or one random threat to Kautal hore.

Christians are not creating awareness as the Adeboyes and other prominent people are not speaking out. Muslim leaders too should speak out and let Boko Haram and Buhari know that the killings do not conform with the tenets of Islam.

People saying more Muslims have been killed, how is CAN suppose to fight Muslims that are killing Muslims?
Muslims should leave Christians out of their madness! The basis of Christian religion is ' love your neighbour as u love yourself. stop killing Christians and I hope the terrorists have discovered that ' we are not alone'.

To be realistic, Islam is a radical religion that openly urges adherents to kill other people of different faith.
If Islam had the power that Christianity has they would oppress and kill Christians and Jews.
If you doubt consider recent happening in Libya involving slave trade by Muslim there, In the past the 6 days war against Isreal, e.t.c

In the world we live in today the most powerful and dangerous force that exists is Christian Zionism. If you doubt me look at the status of Isreal. Today there is no longer any thing called Palestine.

While the herdsmen were busy killing Christians in Churches, the military went to the troubled zone to kill and burn houses, herdsmen moved freely with weapons but they forget that the world powers are Mostly Christian nations. Russia, U.S, All of Europe.
In Nigeria Christians are a very very powerful force but because of the nature of Christianity, turn the other cheek some Muslims see as weak.
This is how it started with Isreal and today Palestine has disappeared and now the muslims are crying and claiming the victim.
Look at Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Iraq, Syria all in ruins---the power of Christian Zionism.
When Trump declared Jerusalem capital of Isreal, President Buhari condemned the move, his actions provoked Isreal and of course Trump himself.
I encourage our Muslim brothers to be careful especially the extremist.

Pls exercise some intelligence and prove to me how the killings are religiously motivated e.g. how churches are being replaced with mosques or how Muslims are taking over houses and farmlands of those killed, including any other example that you can think of.

Muslim leaders have severally condemn the killings, don't know how many times you want them to do so in order to satisfy you; the Sultan had even ordered the MACBAN to carry out a thorough investigation and report those behind such killings within the Fulani community.

Assuming Muslim leaders had remained silent; pls explain how such silence could possibly amount to complicity, connivance or support for such killings that would warrant CAN to come out make it as if the killings were being targeted at Christians?

Do you know that such untrue and unfair statements could cause tension between Muslims and Christians and easily lead us back to the days of religious intolerance and rioting - they are treading on dangerous waters?

Keep deceiving yourself.
The desperation Buhari and his brothers are exhibiting in this country is so disgusting. You guys went as far as organising yourselves and blew yourselves up in the mosque just to prove to Donald Trump that not only Christians are being killed in Nigeria.
Its so unfortunate that none of you didn't even care about value of human life, that's why you went ahead and committed a crime against humanity just to score a cheap political point .

Just click 'mambila genocide' in youtube and you will see a 7 part documentary of how 728 mostly Fulani women and children were killed in Taraba in June 2017 by local militia with the connivance of the state government.

Find below a video clip of the full names and identity of each of the 728 killed - which the media failed to sufficiently cover because it runs against their biased narrative.

One thing you need to know about Jihadist murderers is that they hate the exposure of their Islamization agenda! They prefer a situation were these killings will go on Secretly and Silently until their plans (wipe and forcefully occupy Christian ancestral lands) are achieved, so that by the time Christians wake up and realized what is happening, it will be too late.
This is why they are so damn angry at Trump for saying the truth that Christians in Nigeria are under attack. They are not just angry at Trump for Sympathizing with Nigerian Christians, they are more angry at Trump for Exposing the Genocide/Massacre of Nigerian Christians to the World by fulani jihadist!

Unfortunately at the bolded, They are all the same. Both terrorist and those of them who claim to be moderate are on the same team. Its just like football. The Strikers are the terrorist while the defenders are the so called moderate Muslims. Who celebrates when the strikers score a goal (Terrorist kills adherents of other religion especially Christian)? All members of the teams including the so call moderates celebrate it!

The issue is that Christians tend to be loud mouths who wail and lament at every pinch, with support from their media. That is why if one Christian gets killed everybody hears, while when even hundreds of Muslims get killed, the Muslims will just pray for their brethren and move on.

As for talking sense to them, don't bother, I have grown to realise that it is their sense of hatred alone that drives them, not a sense of logic or desire to reason. When you are acting from an inferior logical standpoint, you have to resort to defamation and disparagement of your competitor in order to retain credibility, at least among the petty minded masses who form the majority of their worshippers.

As for the statements of Trump, they are just ecstatic because they do not really believe in a real God that can help them, despite their hypocritical assertions. They therefore are happy to have had an assistant deity in the person of Trump, to make any kind of promises to them.

Ignore them, they will get tired eventually.

Currently their main target is the president, they are using his ethnicity and religion to discredit him; unfortunately the damage their cause will continue to remain with us long after he is gone - that is why it is important to checkmate it whenever we can.

They have no choice but to change their behaviour towards Christians because if it comes to fighting or violence the Christians wield more strength than them.
Look at Syria's Assad, the only thing saving his life now is Russia a country where 90% are catholics...
I want the muslims of nigeria to change.
Look at how everyone kept mute when slaughter of Christians was ongoing in Benue and taraba no one condemned or came to the aid of the Christians, the fulani herds men occupied a whole village and chased out the original inhabitants and nothing happened, I saw a video where fulani men where carrying police rifles with npf colors in mass numbers and nothing happened.
All of a sudden Trump gave stern warning to Buhari concerning killing of Christians and all of a sudden the muslims started forming victims!
Where is Leah Sharibu?
You are a witness, everyone is mute including The President.

You want to remind us that Muslims are being killed also.... What have they done to stop it and make the government brace up to its responsibility... Nothing..

So it's either you support the people shouting at the roof tops for the killing to stop or you donate your life to Boko Haram

You made an important point. But I want you to now fit in these things into your argument and see how it looks.
Recently over 80 young school girls were captured by an Islamic sect, the father of the Nation negotiated the release of all the girls except one Christian girl who refused to renounce her Christian faith, how do you expect Christians to think?

The president came out to condemn Trump declaration of Isreal as Jerusalem capital, what message does this send out in a multi-religious country like Nigeria.

You talk about muslims praying for their dead and moving on. Before his emergence as president, Buhari came to cry genocide because of the killing of Islamic Boko Haram in the North, why didn't he pray and move on?

But when they resort to killing others

We will not take it... Period
You are saying Muslims die.. And nobody hears and they just pray and move on...
What a pile of trash... Why would they die in the first place... Are they chickens...

Like I said... If Muslims must kill
Let them face each other

This line of your thinking is not different from that mentality which prevailed in the North and amids Muslims obscuring all OBJECTIVE PERCEPTION as to the reality of what was really happening. The mentality too was that Jonathan being a Christian was responsible for what was happening in North East and the killings was been aided by the government. My point is this. The average Nigerian mentality is so inclined towards SENTIMENTALISM which is nothing but a show of INTELLECTUAL VACUITY. If truely American intelligence is of any benefit to our collective humanity, it should have provided UNDISPUTABLE EVIDENCE as to the BRAIN BEHIND ALL THESE MAYHEM WHICH IS AT LEAST 10 YEARS OLD. If they say it is "SEEMINGLY" this Government that is aiding this killings because a Fulani man is the head and a Muslim then the should produce their evidence. DOES THE ARM OF THE NIGERIAN SECURITY COMPRISE OF ONLY FULANIS AND MUSLIMS ALONE SO THAT THOSE "KILLING CHRISTIANS" ARE BEING COVERED UP FOR SUCH ATTROCITIES? This is a very common sense question. Hence, we must start employing common sense to human affairs. Perhaps the major problem is that COMMON SENSE is not COMMON. Even when Jonathan who is a Christian was the President of Nigeria, the killings in the middle belt of the country was sadly enamous just as it is till date. Who could have been given such ATTROCITIES a cover then? BUHARI?! We need people with OBJECTIVE minds to solve our problems and not minds CONFUSED and clouded by SENTIMENTALISM.
Is it any News that the ideals which propels the American government and society most especially today more than ever before is PROFOUNDLY ANTICHRIST and most inclined towards MISCHIEF aimed at destroying RELIGION? What do you think this so called DEMOCRACY is all about? Well that lack of GOOD EDUCATION which should be aimed at divergent thinking is what is INDEED really, really killing us. Yes, that BOOKISH INSTITUTION which makes a STUP!DTY of minds, burying our curiosity, that gift to search and discover!!! We all need to learn to seek after ABSOLUTE TRUTH for in it lies WISDOM which leads to PEACE AND PROSPERITY.

They are not even going to reason anyway, so there is little point in wasting time and energy. NL is for BBN news and relationship advice, it is not a forum for knowledge.
