CAN is playing a dangerous game of politics with religion; we all know that no one is currently being killed because of their faith, in fact more Muslims are being killed than Christians; therefore giving the ongoing crisis a religious colouration is potentially explosive likely to further divide Nigerians along the usual fault lines - before we know it , we could easily revert back to those unfortunate days of religious intolerance and rioting.

You really mean that no one is currently killed in Nigeria because of his faith? Is it mere coincidence that the States that have suffered greatest casualties from herdsmen are the ones dominated and controlled by christians? The evil you condone today will turn around and hunt you down tomorrow. Boko haram menace is a case in point.

Muslims killing themselves... Bothers no one
But when they resort to killing others

We will not take it... Period
You are saying Muslims die.. And nobody hears and they just pray and move on...
What a pile of trash... Why would they die in the first place... Are they chickens...

Like I said... If Muslims must kill
Let them face each other
Putting others in the equation is a No No..
It can't happen

I guess you feel you have said something tangible. I am sorry, but I don't see it. When you see people fighting on the basis of religion, or singling out only the adherents of a specific religion then you can justify the nonsense you wrote.

How a farmer/herdsman clash became a religious jihad in the petty minds of the fickle is something that only their devils can answer. How the Fulani 'herdsmen' became Muslim scholars fighting for Islam overnight is beyond even the supposedly brightest of you to explain.

More Muslims killed in Zamfara not to talk of the North East than those states put together; at one time, June 2017 no less than 728 mainly Fulani women and children were killed by the local Taraba Christian militia - you can click 'Mambila genocide' in youtube and see for yourself.

These ppl were buried quietly without media hype and fanfare; considering the huge number of casualties involved, you would have thought Christian religious groups like CAN would have come out with statements of condemnation like they hypocritically insist and expect from Muslims whenever their Christian brethren suffer such casualties - so far we are yet to hear anything from them except to selectively politicise the Benue killings.

9Ebisco:
The Christian Association of Nigeria has commended the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump for condemning killing of Christians in Nigeria.

During a joint press conference with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, Trump said the“killing of Christians in Nigeria was unacceptable” to the American government.

Reacting, CAN in a statement issued by its spokesman, Pastor Bayo Oladeji, noted that Trump told Buhari the right thing to do.

He, however, said if Buhari does not sit up and protect Christians, they will defend themselves.

Oladeji said, “We are happy that President Trump has told President Buhari the right thing to do. We hope and believe President Buhari would do the right thing and sit up. He has to sit up.

“Every time we tell them Christians are being killed, they don’t want to listen, but that is the truth. If the President cannot protect Christians, we have two options, we fight back.

“The law of the land permits self-defence. Secondly, come 2019, we vote him out. If he says there is nothing Christians can do, let him dare us.”

Instead of the Muslims to add their voice to the killings, Ishaq Akintola will threaten Christians while Sultan will wait to announce sighting of the moon or one random threat to Kautal hore.

Christians are not creating awareness as the Adeboyes and other prominent people are not speaking out. Muslim leaders too should speak out and let Boko Haram and Buhari know that the killings do not conform with the tenets of Islam.

dmexy33:
To be realistic, Islam is a radical religion that openly urges adherents to kill other people of different faith.
If Islam had the power that Christianity has they would oppress and kill Christians and Jews.
If you doubt consider recent happening in Libya involving slave trade by Muslim there, In the past the 6 days war against Isreal, e.t.c

In the world we live in today the most powerful and dangerous force that exists is Christian Zionism. If you doubt me look at the status of Isreal. Today there is no longer any thing called Palestine.

While the herdsmen were busy killing Christians in Churches, the military went to the troubled zone to kill and burn houses, herdsmen moved freely with weapons but they forget that the world powers are Mostly Christian nations. Russia, U.S, All of Europe.
In Nigeria Christians are a very very powerful force but because of the nature of Christianity, turn the other cheek some Muslims see as weak.
This is how it started with Isreal and today Palestine has disappeared and now the muslims are crying and claiming the victim.
Look at Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Iraq, Syria all in ruins---the power of Christian Zionism.
When Trump declared Jerusalem capital of Isreal, President Buhari condemned the move, his actions provoked Isreal and of course Trump himself.
I encourage our Muslim brothers to be careful especially the extremist.
If this is the case, every other adherents of other religions should have been killed, there are more than 2b Muslims on the globe and you still foolishly attach killing to Islam?that's bias

President Donald Trump should not be quoted out of context. He would not have made such categorical statement on Buhari. I watched d full script of the both press conference, nothing like that was said by him. Rather, he urge Govt at all levels to ensure the protection of Nigerian citizens both Christians and Moslems alike. Christian organisation should not submerged themselves in d mucky water of politics otherwise they will b submerge therein. Moslems r humans, christ never preached and encourage discrimination. He preach love. Whoever that post this rubbish is a political pastor driven by economic realities. We should not incite crises rather we should solve and prevent crises. Christianity is not build upon lies but this post makes mockery of d body of Christ because it is built on lies. The originator of this lies should be sanction for telling lies against Donald trump in order to deceive members of d public if truly these body is constituted by men of impeccable character.

Someone mentioned Mambilla killing. I laugh in kaka language. Same Mambila people Buhari sponsored all African fulanis to wipe out in 2012 but the federation of world Fulanis could not. That is one reason he Buhari kept mute in Benue killing. I don't know why the Fulanis is having a field day in Benue, they can't survive even as transit in Jukuns in Taraba state. Benue should consult Mambilla and Jukuns to Teach them art of war.

I somewhat like this CAN. Now that Trump has given Buhari orders, Buhari will in turn order his boys, Fulani herdsmen, to stop the onslaught. Just watch and see if it continues. Buhari fears and worships whites.

See intellectual laziness; you obviously didn't bother to read the article you just quoted because if you did you would have realised that it was about purely Boko Haram attacks on some churches (as if to say that the terrorists were alsonot attacking Muslims in their mosques too) which occurred years back under GEJ's administration; and clearly not referring to any of the recent herdsmen killings as you dishonestly want us to believe.

As for bombing of churches; don't tell me that you are unaware that Christians have been caught bombing their own churches to implicate Muslims under the said GEJ administration.

The truth is that CAN is missing the free lunch and and jets for fake miracles enjoyed at GEJ’s time. They will do anything to remove Buhari , even if it leads to the country’s destruction. They don’t care about Christian’s just missing the loot. They failed and will continue to fail, Nigeria will not go back to Jonathan’s kleptocracy and there hero Trump is happy with that.

Re: CAN Reacts To Trump’s Warning To Buhari On Killing Of Christians by Coolbreeze2000: 8:21pm On May 02, 2018
At the end when the religious war starts, it is the poor that will suffer because Senior Allahajis, Senior Imams, Senior Pastors, Sheiks and Bishops in fact those people both wealthy Muslims and Christians using religion to deceive the masses will run and allow us to kill ourselves.

I am yet to see wealthy Muslims fight wealthy Christians, in fact they dine together in wealth. It's the poor with no food that always fight for something they have no idea about.

The earlier we realize that these killings are between the "have and have-not" , "rich and poor" the better for the ordinary people. There's no where in this country mass killings would take place without it been sponsored by the rich irrespective of religious affiliations.

I don't want bad leadership to turn my country Nigeria into Syria where world powers will be using us to play chess for our resources.
Be wise my people...

Please mention the names of prominent Muslims who have lent their voices to the killings of Muslims? I mentioned names of Muslims who are indirectly keeping mute.

Muslims do not need to come out condemning the killings of Muslims because it is already a foregone conclusion that such killing is wrong; Christians are the ones who seem to want to politicise such killings in order to heat up the polity as they usually do.

Those who are relevant know what is what. There is no point in arguing about it on NL with the kind of people that are usually found here, and it is not even beneficial to do so. They are not even going to reason anyway, so there is little point in wasting time and energy. NL is for BBN news and relationship advice, it is not a forum for knowledge.

Agreed; however, some of us cannot just roll over and allow such false narratives to go unchallenged.
