A new bipartisan report from the Senate Intelligence Committee reasserts the panel's position that Russia launched an "unprecedented" election interference campaign in 2016 to help Donald Trump defeat Hillary Clinton.

The 158-page, heavily redacted fourth volume of the Senate Intelligence panel's ongoing investigation into Russian election interference and the US government's response to it undermines the president's years-long campaign to frame the intelligence community's 2017 assessment that Russian President Vladimir Putin sought to aid Mr Trump as a "hoax" perpetrated by career US intelligence officials who do not like him.
The 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) is "a sound intelligence product," the Senate report concludes.

Tuesday's report also keeps Mr Burr's committee at odds with Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee, who concluded in their own 253-page report in 2018 that intelligence officials exhibited "tradecraft failings" during their investigation and assessment of Russian election interference and Mr Putin's motives.
The 2017 ICA "reflects strong tradecraft, sound analytical reasoning, and proper justification of disagreement in the one analytical line where it occurred," the report concludes.

The Senate report also states that it found no evidence the US intelligence officials who compiled the 2017 ICA that found Russia interfered in 2016 to back Mr Trump were operating under political pressures or otherwise politically motivated.

"In all the interviews of those who drafted and prepared the ICA, the Committee heard consistently that analysts were under no politically motivated pressure to reach specific conclusions," the report states. "All analysts expressed that they were free to debate, object to content, and assess confidence levels, as is normal and proper for the analytic process."

In a statement on Tuesday, Mr Burr commended the intelligence community's work in 2017 and echoed its warning that Americans should be on guard for repeat efforts by the Kremlin in 2020 to spread misinformation before the presidential election on 3 November.

The Senate Intelligence Committee has not announced when it will release the fifth and final volume of its report, which, in total, is expected to be nearly 1,000 pages.That final volume of the report could be the most politically sensitive one yet, as it will focus on US counterintelligence efforts in 2016, when Russia was trying to make contact with advisers on the Trump campaign, including the president's son Donald Trump Jr, his campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller reported last year that his team found “evidence of numerous links” between members of the Trump campaign and people with ties — or who claimed to have ties — to the Russian government.
Mr Mueller, however, declined to bring any charges against Mr Manafort, Mr Kushner, Mr Trump, or any others on the campaign for their contacts with purported Russian agents over concerns that it would be difficult to prove to a jury they willfully broke campaign laws prohibiting such behaviour.

The report released yesterday was confirmed by the Senate led Intelligence Committee - whose leader is Senate GOP - Richard Burr.
Another point, it seems that majority of Republicans on the Intel committee voted for this report which means they agree with it, because Republicans are in the Majority on the Intel Committee in the Senate, and without their votes, this report would not have been issued or passed.
This now begs the question, with all these information, why did the Senate GOP voted in February to acquit Trump during the impeachment. Why is the report so heavily redacted?

Only a matter of time before Richard Burr is labelled anti-Trump and as usual Trump fans will still insist that is all "Fake News" and its the "Democrats out to get Trump."

Fox News Quietly Backs Away From Hyping Trump’s Coronavirus ‘Miracle Drug’
After weeks of incessantly hyping an unproven anti-malarial drug as a potential miracle cure for the coronavirus, Fox News has seemingly ditched its nearly round-the-clock promotion of hydroxychloroquine.

Unsurprisingly, the change in tone coincided with President Donald Trump’s own retreat from touting the drug, and comes as multiple studies have shown no benefit to COVID-19 patients.

Beginning in mid-to-late March and ramping up through the first two weeks of April, the president repeatedly lauded hydroxychloroquine—a drug developed decades ago to combat malaria and currently also used to treat lupus and rheumatoid arthritis—as a “game-changer” that has brought people back from the dead.

“What really do we have to lose?” Trump implored the public earlier this month, adding that the drug “doesn’t kill people.” Doctors and medical experts, however, consistently warned that the drug has some severe side effects, such as sudden cardiac arrest.

As is often the case with the cable-news obsessed president, Trump only began promoting the malaria drug as a miracle cure after his favorite Fox opinion hosts openly touted it on-air and in private meetings with him. According to Media Matters for America, a liberal media watchdog, between March 23 and April 6, Fox hosts and guests lauded hydroxychloroquine almost 300 times.

Throughout that time, both the president and Fox stars relied heavily on both anecdotal evidence and flawed studies—namely from a controversial French doctor whose methods have come under scrutiny—to push the drug as a coronavirus cure. The FDA eventually issued “emergency use authorization” in late March for doctors to prescribe the drug to COVID-19 patients in off-label use.

He's obviously not aware that most of the people one sees around hospitals ard visitors and workers, but since this is a highly contagious virus, patients won't have any visitors and they'd be in wards where you can't see them so you don't catch what they got and die.

Yes, they overbuilt hospitals in fields thinking many more than died would die, but that the 2,628,894 who've caught it so far and the 182,992 who've died, are all some worldwide scam some people have colluded to pull on us?
