Hope they are willing to fore go their private jets and luxury cars too. This is the reason why I battle with myself everyday about Nigerian churches. All the pastors wants to play God. They have all turned their churches to their private money making coperation and spend much too much time exalting themselves and the miracles they perform. Sometimes you wonder why you are really there, to worship God or to hear these pastors go on and on about what they have achieved. And its also sickening how they manage to interpret the bible to suit their way of life and reasoning. It saddens me they way they are turning christianity into a joke

Jesus came that we can have life and have it more abundantly. What is wrong with wearing jewelry and trousers? I am a spirit-filled, born again christian, and freedom from bondage from the laws of sin and death is the reason why Christ died on the cross for us all. In the days of old, that is the Old Testatment era, God was a God of dos and don'ts; all you have to do is read the book of Deuteronomy and you will see what I mean. In the New Testament, after Christ died, he became the first born amongst many brethren allowing us to call God our Father. What should be preached and focused on in churches is the personal relationship of the believer with God the Father through the help of the Holy Spirit after receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Believers should go to Church to be fed on the word, to obtain revelation of the mysteries of the gospel and to fellowship with like-minded people. I know that modesty in attire might allow for less distractions in church, but IF this report is true, all these restrictions are tantamount to living in bondage!

Good you profess to be a born again and being spirit filled but I bet there are parts of your Bible you've not read yet. Try reading 1Tim 2 starting from verse 1 to12 .

1Tm:2:9: In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.

So if the GO gave such instruction, you can be sure it's Biblical as he wont give any of such without the backing of the word of God and mind you pastors bending the rules(so that their members wont live in bondage as you've implied) so that they wont offend their members or cause them to leave, have the issue between them and God because the position of the word of God is clear on this issue.

Hmmm...will this dress code have universal application across RCCG? Last time I checked (admittedly about 2 years) ago, all RCCG London Jesus House choir members were attired in jeans trousers for one of their services. Seriously, I've always wondered why Mummy Adeboye dresses without jewelry but many members and even parish leaders' wives do not do likewise. I assumed that each church member was left alone to be personally convinced about it or otherwise. However I personally believe that there's nothing wrong with a church having a dress code, each to his own if it will help instil discipline. If for instance I want to benefit from a particular Deeper Life Programme, I cover my hair just so as not to cause them offence but don't bother when going to a TREM programme.Obeying church dress rules may not guarantee heaven but they would guarantee order and minimise straying eyes (at least during the service).
