Why VIO Plans To Increase Penalties For Road Traffic Violations by lamzybaby: 7:51pm On Jun 27, 2018
Plans are in the offing by the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to increase punitive measures to drivers who flout traffic regulations.

The Director of VIO in the FCT, Mr Bodinga Wadata told our correspondent on Wednesday that the measure has become necessary as FCT drivers disobey traffic laws with reckless abandon.

He said the greatest challenge facing the agency was how to tackle the continued disobedience to traffic regulations by motorists.

“This ranges from excessive speed, breaking of traffic light, driving without drivers’ license and driving vehicles with worn-out parts among others.

“This attitude and other variables have limited the management of the sector.
