Donald Trump was right afterall when he refered to nigeria as a shithole country. I could recalled that our leaders cried foul but today Trump has been vindicated. most of our leaders including kachukwu the minister of state for petroleum have travelled to most of these advance nations. they saw and still seeing how things re done but refused to come up with policies that will enable them replicate good stuffs that re practicable in nigeria. All they think about is how they will pad budget and siphone more money. May God deliver us from all these thieves masqurading as leaders in this country 2 Likes |

The trains move products across the country. Canada imports refined products just like Nigeria and it's a very large country, so the best way is to move the products by rail. However, trucks also move products across short distances... 1 Like |

ibkayee:That idea can't be implemented in Nigeria. Just looking at it i can already see the downside in this country. There is going to be so much theft because its automatic. Nigeria is not built for progress because of our mentality 1 Like 1 Share |

In as much as I blame our leaders for some of our problems in Nigeria, Nigerian masses share a big part of the blame too. Even if all the regulations are in place to prevent a calamity such as this, it is our nature in Nigeria to disregard the regulations. Nigerians refuse to think of how unsafe and illegal practices can destabilize the whole society. Any where country where the citizens fears the politicians rather than the politicians fearing the masses shall never be prosper. |

itspzpics:Transporting petroleum products via trains is even pointless; I doubt if that's what's been transported by those trains in the video posted. The sane way to transport petroleum products is via pipelines to fuel depots in different regions of the country, from where it would then be distributed to filling stations by the normal tanker trucks we know. A fact is that even in the most developed countries, the tanker trucks can't really be eliminated from the distribution chain; the best thing reasonable governments do is to limit the movement of the hazardous trucks to the middle of the night, typically 12-6am when people are asleep and off the road. The sad thing about Nigeria though is that in the recent past, we actually followed the sensible approach in distributing petroleum products. But these days, I imagine most fuel depots around the country are dead, pipelines are now dilapidated due to age, poor maintenance and constant vandalism, and the petroleum products we consume in the country now comes from the Apapa wharf instead of our refineries which already have the infrastructure to distribute products via installed pipelines. |
