kilokeys:

1. Land lease.... *N10,000/hectare*
2. Clearing... *N28,000/hectare*
3. Cutting and cross cutting (trees)... *N20,000*
4. Packing and burning... *N18,000*
5. Plantain suckers (1500 at N50 each)... *N75,000*
6. Planting @N20 per suckers... *N30,000*

7. Weed management
At planting
4 litres of Glyphosphate/Hectare @ N2100/ltr = *N8,400*

3-4 weeks after (just once)
3kg of atrazine and 1 bottle of 2-4d
Atrazine is N2500/kg and 24-d is N1900
7500+1900= *N9,400*

Glyphosphate would be repeated 6 more times throughout the planting season, after the first application with two months interval
N8,400 x 6 = *N50,400*

Cost of labor for weeding
At every time weed is applied, cost of labor is N4,500 per hectare and a total number of 8 was the place weeded
5000 x 8 = *N40,000*

At harvest
Cost of labor to cut the plantains
N17,000.

Miscellaneous : *N3,800*

Total cost : *N310,000*

*EXPECTED PROFIT*
PLANTAIN BUNCH
In the case where 1300 suckers eventually yields (assuming 200 does not or dies) and each is sold for N500/bunch

1300 x N500 = *N650,000*

SALE OF SUCKERS
There are about 8 suckers that grow around each plantain tree. If 5 of it is sold at N40 each, giving we have 1300 plantain trees

5 x 40 x 1300 = *N260,000*

Total expected profit = *N910,000*

Thank you for this great analysis, I'm okay with everything except where to get the land for that price within ondo state ...

OP, All depend on location. If it's anywhere from Ore to Ondo, cocoa is the best. If it's anywhere in Ikale, esp Irele I would advice you rent Palm plantation (pupuru is also lucrative if you can bag it).
Vegetable, maize is good in Ifon/Owo.

I'm actually from ikale but my brother I'm not that used to village , i have 3 acres that I just planted palm plantation hope it goes well but I'm looking towards that plantain plantation ... I feel more comfortable with that but I need land and a professional at that field.

FAQs on Jehus Farms
1. What is the Concept behind Jehus Farms and how does It Work?

Our economic clime demands that if we must afloat financially then we must have to create alternative sources of income for support. But, the challenge is that, most of us do not have time and possibly the expertise and resources to do so. Yet such residual-income creating mechanism MUST be safe from investment-loss and to a large extent within our control.
Hence, “Jehus Farms” and Agro-allied company with years of farming experience, especially with plantain farm, seek to help you own a farm, whose ownership will, completely, be under your control, yet by a contract signed with you, at take-off, we are empowered to manage the farm for you, from bush clearing to harvesting (Where we buy off your farm produce) at a pre-guaranteed price, so you make money from your farm by leveraging on our time and expertise. While we also mitigate against any risk of losses by insuring your farm, within the period we have the management contract with you.
Basically, we help you own an agric business and earn, profitably, from same while you keep your job/business, while you have full control on your farm.

2. Where is the location and size of your farm?
The farm is located around Ogere, in Ipara-Remo, Obafemi Owode LGA, Ogun state, approximately 45 minute drive from Ojodu-Berger in Lagos.
For now, we have over 300 acres with about 60 acres planted already for Investors like you.
A plot measured 648 sqm or 60ft x 120 ft

3. Who are the owners of Jehus Farms?
Jehus farms is wholly Nigerian company with three Directors and a Chairman forming the board.
The chairman is a retired banker. Also, one of the directors serves as Plantain Specialist Researcher with IITA, Ibadan.

4. What are the investment options?
There are two investment options for the plantain investment, for now.
(a) The Purchase option: here, the investors buy the farmland at N140,000/plot or N800,000/Acre, to own it forever, And invest N130,000/plot or N755,000/Acre, for farm management (which includes procurement of hybrid suckers, planting, weed control, purchase of fertilizer, payment of insurance fee, irrigation during dry season, etc.).
Total=N270, 000 or N250, 000; outright./plot or N1,555,000 or N1.480,000,outright/Acre.
(We also offer you a FREE plot when you buy an acre.)
(b) The second option affords the investors to lease a portion of our farmland at N65, 000/plot or N400, 000/acre and invest N130, 000/plot or N755, 000/Acre, for farm management.

5. What is the Returns on Investment?
THE GUARANTEED RETURNS ARE AS STATED BELOW (FOR BOTH PURCHASE AND LEASE)
A PLOT:
N70, 000 the first year, that’s at the eleventh month after planting
N165, 000 the second year, to be paid in two installments @N82, 500, at the end of every six month
N165, 000 the third year, to be paid in two installments
@N82, 500, end of every six month
Total = N400, 000

AN ACRE:
N400, 000 the first year, that’s at the eleventh month after planting
N1, 000,000 the second year, to be paid in two installments @N500, 000 at the end of every six month
N1, 000,000 the third year, to be paid in two installments @N500, 000 at the end of every six month
Total= N2.4M (BUT N2.8M For purchase of an acre with a FREE plot)

6. What are the Guarantee on my investments?
We are saying that the investment and your returns are guaranteed. And we demonstrate to ensure this by doing the following:
 We are transferring the risk of any eventual loss on the farm to Nigeria Agric Insurance Corporation, a specialized Agric-insurance product that ensure the farm is covered against any loss.
 We are providing 24/7 armed-security personnel, especially during the fruiting season, in other to secure the farm produce.
 We are also signing an eleven-page Management contract that protect your investment and returns, and clearly state you returns too.
 We are also going to isolate a percentage of the profits from the plantain flour processing company to an escrow account to support payment, on the event of anything (unforeseen circumstances)
 We also have an existing plantain farm, we can fall back on to support payment of guaranteed returns on the event of any loss, at all.
 Finally, our choice of plantain is very strategic, as plantain is very resilient so much that on the event of any disaster, plantain will always come back to produce. Even in the face of disaster or adversity, productivity may be affected but the farm cannot be completely lost.

7. What are your antecedents? How long have you been in business?
We have started building our plantain farm in the last nine years with our existing farm in Udo, Edo state. Two of our directors have been involved in different levels of farming both at subsistence and commercial levels in the last 20 years. Besides, Jehus Farms have advisers that are currently with specific expertise in Plantain and Banana Research. And our workers are professionals, who have garnered Plantain farm experience from the IITA, Ibadan too.

8. What Title do you have on the farm? Can I view it?
We bought the farmland from the community and we have a Deed of Assignment. Registered with the Ogun State Government, covering it.
You can view the document in our office, any day, anytime. We can also send the snapshot of the necessary documents to prospective clients who reside outside Lagos/Nigeria.

9. When exactly do I get paid?
Refer to Question 5

10. What Documents do I get immediately after payment?
If you choose the Purchase option, you get:
 Receipt of payment
 Contract of sale
 Farm management contract
 Deed of assignment (4-5 months later)
If you choose the Lease option, you get:
 Receipt of payment
 Land lease Agreement
 Farm management contract

11. Can I buy the farmland and manage it myself?
Absolutely YES

12. Can I buy the farmland and use it for other crops or animal farming?
The land is absolutely yours, you can do whatever you choose/desire

13. What happens after the first three years of Managing the farm for me?
You have the choice to re-engage us for another two years before we live the land to fallow, at this time you only make payment for farm management, which will be determined by prevailing economy at that year.

good idea bro, you have 1m , I would advice you devid the money to three. use 300k for broilers (250 day old for 9 weeks ) use 400k for fishery and then use 300k for both poultry structure and small fish pond . 150k each. or go into lending of money to small business owners, give each 10 persons 100k to pay you with 10k interest evry month , from the 10 persons you r making 100k gain per month plus additional 5 person whom you will later give another 100 K from the money paid weekly from the first 10 person's . you can make 300k gain every month after the first 3months

A friend in Ondo once told me about Plam Oil business he's into.

He would buy Plam Oil ( Red Oyeil grin) at low price from all dis vilage mama and keep to sell at high price when the price raises.

His analysis sounds interesting tho but you have to run ur homework real good if that's where you wanna invest ur money.
Very good business, buy cheap palm oil from local source, buy good packaging rubbers and make a brand, package the Palm oil inside sell at high price to offices, bankers e.t.c, do a market survey first.

Start beekeeping business, it is a lucrative one. With just 25000 naira, you can purchase a beehive that can last over 10 years and 50000 naira to acquire beeking materials. Your return on investment depends on the number of hives installed and with 1million, you should be aware of huge number of hives you can acquire. With good management, you can harvest around 12 liters of honey from a 10 frame beehive and a litre cost about 2000 naira. Multiplying this by 12 gives 24000 naira. Your profit will be accrued in the next harvest which is around 6 months. You don't need to purchase a land before you install your hive
