South Africa is moving towards recognition of Muslim marriage. In any case, that is what the Western Cape High Court ruled Friday, August 31st. Justice gives the South African Parliament two years to legislate and allow almost 1 million South African Muslims to enjoy the same rights as other citizens in the event of divorce.
