alfajohn: That's exactly what I did when they stopped me. I argued it was not obstructing my view. Secondly it was cracked screen and not shattered screen which was listed as offence in their books, However even their own vehicle has a cracked screen like mine. I snapped both mine and theirs and threatened to start a conversation on twitter if they dare book me. They just look me finish and gave me back my DL. ZOOOM 1 Like |

I assume one can get it filled instead of replacing it. Don't know if they have any glass fillers on the Island or if they have any in Nigeria. I need one too cos i've got a dented spot on my windshield. So OP, do keep me posted if you find any. Thanks 1 Like |

Bimpe29:the poster might be lucky enough to be spared for cracked windshield...shattered screen is an offence. |

As long as the crck does not impair your vision, you shouldn't be arrested or fined but "this is Nigeria". The highway code drafted by the FRSC only mentions " "shattered windscreen". It doesn't mention cracked windscreen. However, these unscrupulous fellows sanctioned by the government to keep us safe on the road will decide to " intentionally" misinterpret their own codes and issue fines or effect arrest just because they can. Imagine them setting up mobile courts on a federal road just because they can. Well, this is Nigeria. 1 Like |

If the crack is on the driver's side you will be arrested but if on the other side they May want to humiliate you to comply, after all they are only required to arrest for broken and not cracked wind shield |

rosebase: In Kano I was charged N5 by the local traffic police (KAROTA) and I suspect same would also apply with FRSC - my advice is fix your windscreen and avoid unnecessary hassle. |

You can leave Lagos like 5am or thereabout...... those police men stay on the road all night.... so they would have retired by the time u will be passing..... when u get to toll gate arin(Ogere)... keep to the left of the lane.... FRSC is always on the right cos the right portion is bad....... you can also avoid that detour that u will use before turn right to face Ife road.... those policemen there are BASTARDSSS....you can use old ife road.... the SARS guys around Adegbayi are very professional and friendly(so no wahala).... DO NOT TRAVEL AT NIGHT!!! even ogere town policemen will come to the express to coman eat(you will see maybe 1 or 2 checkpoints during the day, you will see not less than 6 at night) 2 Likes |

Kayman3: I wasn't around through the process of it all, but it's sort of like a chemical that reglazes the glass. He said the result is usually better if the crack is recent because of particles which would have lodged themselves in the crevices overtime for old cracks. Message me... I'll share his contact with you. |
