For all those blaming the present government, be informed that that road did not just start detoriating in the past 4 years. Past regimes have ignored that road and our able leaders have not done enough to push for repairs. It's a shame. And yes, I am an Otukpo indIrene so I should know

The contract for this road was allegedly awarded to the former Senate President's wife, money collected but not done. If you are Idoma and are here defending those thieves, Alekwu K'Idoma fire you!

Too many idiots in Nairaland... In enugu and Abia there are bad federal road.... Yet they are constructing railway in Kaduna, Lagos to Kansas. They abandoned the north to South east road. And you are here calling David mark.

Is it the duty of David mark a legislator to do road or is the duty of executive
Re: The Bad State Of Federal Road In Otukpo, Benue State (Photos) by Reference(m): 10:08pm On Sep 11, 2018
Bad roads everywhere. Kogi is a mess in and out. Stuck trucks stretching several kilometres. Edo east is terrible. Benue highways are a mess. Imo, Abia... Where will you say the government is working objectively. Highway infrastructure in the centre of the country and the east has collapsed.

In times past this is where FERMA comes into play. Today, nothing. No intervention anywhere. What is going on. And instead of asking their government take action stupid, silly Nigerians are busy casting aspersions against individuals letting those charged with.those tasks off the hook.

I have never seen such stupid citizenry before. What is the point in a change of government if what you are getting is worse than before. If the present government knows it has no blame, no responsibility to do anything, it will not do anything and this is what we see happening.

It took me fifteen hours to get to Port Harcourt yesterday and I absolutely regretted that decision.

What the Minister of Works needs to do immediately and for the duration of the rest of the rainy season is to set up a rapid response intervention squad comprising civil engineers (not contractors) that will identify critical spots along major highways by SOS calls backed up with audio-visual evidence of the carnage and response to ameliorate them within 24 hours of reporting. Most of the very bad, traffic halting spots and failed sections of these highways are not extensive and not tasks that a budget of a billion naira per state cannot handle throughout the rainy season. This is just common sense for this sorry country.

For me, common sense means the end of cross country road trips till January. I've had enough. Never been this bad.

I don't mind politicians lobbying for extra special stuff like airports for their village or bridge over some stream. But for gods sake they should not have to lobby for common highway. These should have budget already.

Your generation is cursed forever, starting from today. Whenever anything is bad in Idomaland, you blame David Mark. Forgetting the fact that he is JUST A LEGISLATOR.

You bastard keeps blaming presidency for the dilapidated roads in your zone.

General (State) Hospital Otukpo was in bad condition, you blamed David Mark.

No Potable water in Idomaland or Otukpo it's David.

No any Federal presence in Otukpo, it's David Mark.

A high way like this in the backyard of a two term Senate president, who has spent over 19 years in the Senate. Yet, he couldn't draw the attention of the FG to it and you are faulting lobbying.

Lobbying is part of Democracy, it is practiced globally.

Quite unfortunate and disheartening to see that one of the oldest and buzzing town in Benue State is deteriorating rapidly.

The most pathetic of this is, the fact that Otukpo is the ancestral home of an immediate Senate President David Mark who served in that capacity for 8years and a four term Senator. It's a shame!
This same Man Sen.David Mark is now telling Nigerians that he will change the fortune of Nigeria for the good in 2 years. Charity they said begins at home.

I was at Otukpo during the weekend and what i saw was an eye saw, very messy and pitiful. It took us almost 3 hours to drive from Otukpo to Makurdi which ordinarily should have been an hour drive.

I pity my car as i was always in a quarrel with my driver cuz of clash between the unending potholes and the underneath of my car. In fact i vowed not to travel with a saloon car.

I'm also contemplating writing an open letter to Mr President to please come to our aid and savage the situation.

Now some of you can understand some of my greviances with the PDP government.

Hmm. 3hours is still fair. i drove from Makurdi to Lagos via Otukpo, Otukpa, 9th mile, Okah Enugu, Onitsha till i got to Lagos for over 12hours on Sept 1st 2018 and Sept 9th 2018 back to Makurdi with my lovely Camry 2009. all i could say to myself was that the federal, state and local government is a scam. with all the Tax deduction from my salary every month, i still have to face those terrible roads. now my entire car shocks are bad. and i have to spend almost 120k for replacement as discussed with Elizade motors service centre. Where exactly are we going in this country, why cant this leaders of ours use our resources well. Nigeria is so rich that we shouldn't be facing hardship in all areas. no light, no water, no road, no good school, no good hospital, what exactly is the way forward guys. sincerely i'm just confused about these our so called leaders.
