Topmaike007:As in eeh, the thing baffles me sometimes. I was invited to one church like that one certain time, the way the pastor kept hammering on money issues eeh, money money money until I got angry and left because it was becoming so embarrassing. I kept wondering how the congregation feels listening to that conman every Sunday and happily donate their money to him |

The Bible says as many that are led by the spirit of God are the sons of God, not people that are led by laws. If it the spirit of God that leads you to do that, then you are justify. |

izzy4shizzy: OP do you know that you are not really paying the tithes to God? Do you know that tithes were strictly meant for selected individuals of the tribe of Levites that served God who's presence swelled in the temple live. Do you know that the Levites only purpose in life was to serves God in the temple and not own any single property? Do you know that God never accepted money as tithes? Do you know that God himself instructed that the tithes must be brought to the temple for the Levites and that if where you reside is too far away from the temple God selects other locations where you can take your tithes To, eat and merry with your family, widows, poor? Do you know that they had to sell their tithes (livestock, crops) converting it into cash so they could travel to the destination with ease and when they get there they buy food and drinks to merry as stated above? Do you know that God only recognises your good works most especially the assistance you provide to the widows, poor, homeless? Not money you give to the church or pastor. Do you know that the disciple never put any burden on anyone and worked to survive? Etc. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

paying of tithe is equivalent to stoning people to death for adultery or killing sheep's to atone for sins....if you still believe in tithe paying of the Old Testament den you have no believe in Christ of the New Testament. 2 Likes |

olatemitayo:Can one take strong wine in church as obtained in Levitical storehouse? Besides, tithe is meant for the needy, i.e, the decendants of Levi who were priests without landed property. The coming of Christ has made everyone priests. Yes, we are all priests and Jesus is our Master. Most pastors, also priests, are extremely rich from the numerous programmes (morning flower or morning dew, monthly harvest, family Thanksgiving, etc.) and do not deserve of our tithes anymore, but greed will not let them leave some portion for the extremely poor. |

Well as simple as this is, it is as logical as well, now let us all agree tithes are ordered by God to be paid from your earnings 1/10 so for gratification we are doing that to show God is faithfulness to us good. Now since this 1/10 of whatever we are is meant for God the question is how do we get it to God since we cant travel to heaven right, so we need someone who can, and since our pastors claim to hear from God we assumed they should be able to travel to God and make our deliveries. But unfortunately we have realised that even our Pastors can't fly to heaven and deliver our message so we are stuck. So let us explore other options, so now our pastors have our tithes and they need God to have it so God said churches huge my tithes to poor by doing that you are sending this messages to me and am receiving it. Good right and easy as well no need of wings or aircrafts. So we pay to the pastors. And since our pastors are also poor and they have the need to buy Photoshop private jet for easy evangelism so that they can talk to poor who can hardly stand hearing them they decided to use it for them self logical right? So since sending my letter through DHL who thinks he deserve to hold my letter for them self than who I want to send it to what would you rather do? Do it yourself . This is the sense behind all this. 1 Like |

Which kind question is this ? Why must you keep giving the overfed pastors your hard earned money in the name of tithes. If you feel like giving, give it to those who really need it around you |

I grew up in a small town with a small Anglican church. The type of church where they collect offering 5 times and the members have learnt to give 10 naira each time. When I got a job in Enugu, I began to worship in a new Anglican church in New Haven. The church is beautiful Behind with plenty of rich members. I wanted to give my first fruit which was not really much but then I remembered that it will take that my village church almost the whole year to raise that money so I decided to send the money to them. I don't want to say what happened when they got the money but the point is that the village church obviously needed the money more than my new rich church. You see my people, let us not forget that the church is me and you and not the building. Imagine that you're going to church on Sunday and you have packaged 500 naira as offering. On your way, someone who genuily needs help meets you and say brither/sister, I was robbed and I need 500 naira to take me home please help me. Then you say no, all I have with me is my offering and I can't give it to you because I need to give it in the church.....in summary all I'm trying to say is that churches these days preach the concept of tithing and offering in their favour. At the end of the day, we forget about the ultimate sacrifice which is LOVE. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Please read your bible...Jesus Christ is God personified according to the Bible,He is pastor above pastors, bishop above Bishops, Christians believe Jesus Christ has the highest rank in Christendom every Pastor call upon his name for help... if Christ is all of these, someone should show me where Jesus preached on tithe and where his congregation was paying tithes to him... Remember he still had the highest congregation on earth nobody has beaten that irrespective of claims here and there... he was followed by nations ... the guy for hammer die .. no be small if na tithe he came for |

Pastors depend on your tithe to fund their lavish lifestyles. They will try to convince you that giving it to the church is better than giving it to the poor. But read up Jesus Christs teachings. |
