To think it doesn't affect most of our leaders, because their kids are schooling abroad. Even if PENGASSAN strikes Buhari would still get fuel.

Nollyzonenews:
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has announced the commencement of an indefinite nationwide strike with immediate effect. The decision was announced at the end of an emergency meeting on Sunday night. Briefing newsmen after the closed door meeting, ASUU president, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, said the strike will be total and commence with immediate effect.

He listed the reasons for their action to include:

1. Failure on the side of the government to honour the memorandum of action signed between the union and the federal government in 2017

2. Renegotiation with ASUU which the government intentionally ignored with impunity. Professor Ogunyemi therefore directed all the state chapters to ensure full compliance until their demands are met.

this is one reason why i prefer private school over government owned school

Yeah, because private schools charge HEFTY fees.

Yes, poor students suffer, but the good thing is, staff get paid on time, and facilites are betterAND GETTING BETTER than public unviersites.

Whereas in public unviersites, we pay fee of less than $1000 and expect $100000 service. How possible is that?

Fact that you finished university 15 years ago doesn't mean you're older than him. When you were in school that same 15 yrs ago, there were people old enough to be your parents in your faculty. So shut your mouth up, this is not secondary school, this is a university setting where anyone can choose to enroll at anytime in life.

Many of our leaders would prefer that their kids study in Nigeria.

Problem is, our unviersites are poorly funded. We need at least N2 trillion yearly to fund our universites properly. Meanhwile our budget is N8trillion.

So the rich vote with their feet...as do a lot of poor and middle class Nigerians ....and send the kids outside, or even to posh private universites.

They should better ammend the law that stipulated that any youth beyond 30 years of age is not eligable to apply for para military agances after using 6 years for 4 years course.

Is it our fault? That 1999 constitution need to re scrapped is obsolete and worn out
