TIME , that is the most effective aspect. have time for your kids, talk to them like a friend, relate with them, share thoughts with them , that way whatever they are thinking or scared of , they will open up to you.# be careful of people that also come around your kids. could be friends , uncle, aunty anybody can have a negative impact on your children . this is why you should monitor people your child relates to . dont be too strict. that way you make your child scared of you and do things secretly without your knowledge take your child out to fun places when you're free. have fun with your children . so that someone else will not come and use it to entince them, especially the girls. because they know if they decline . their parents will still take them or even ask them to go out sometimes to have un and enjoy with their friends 4 Likes |

The most important thing is for parent to train their children in the way of the Lord. You just have to do your best in putting them on the right track. 2 Likes |

Saffi:A child that will spoil, will spoil. That's the true fact. If u like give them all the love and care in this world, if they want to be wayward, they will be. I've seen children from a loving home, go wayward and u keep thinking what happened. Just do your part as a responsible parent and let them do their part as reasonable children. 2 Likes 1 Share |

A child with all the things I’ve listed above is very unlikely to be wayward, although it may still happen but it’s rare. Most wayward children that I’ve seen have one or the other thing missing from their home. prettyesther20: |

I never spoke about being too kind, that’s not advisable you must always have that authority over your children. But the ridiculous strict behaviour that most Nigerian parents have is part of the reason why so many youths are corrupt and wayward. A balance is key. Vdsc: |

Just do what my dad did. Whatever the kid is interested in, feed the interest. I was interested in computers so my dad made sure I spent every free time I had in a computer school and today I'm better off. Same with the footballer mbappe while his mates were having fun he was spending his time playing and studying football and today he is a star. The thing is if teenagers are not engaged positively they'll be engaged negatively. 2 Likes |

tokrizy:I don't believe such fallacy, if a child is not trained well, he will go astray, though there are kids that tend to be good even without very good parenting but that doesn't mean you should neglect good parenting and it's a plus if you lead the child to Know God for himself |

PARENTING TIPS 1. Build a relationship with your kids (watch movies..go on weekend trips 2. Get them latest stuffs,(not compulsory they should be new editions but should be good for the meantime) ,electronics ,,clothes,,phones etc 3. Dont force em on education ,try to help them find their talent support them too (courses that wont stress them if they really want to focus on whatever talent they have).. ............And if your kid loves BOOK help the kid discover what field theyll like 4. You can never know all your kids friends but every kid always have that one PADI (bestie) you can make sure that is the right person 5. Expose your children yourself dont let them get exposed outside NOTE:> Dont let your kids see the weak side of you..let them have that my parents are strong mentality MY PARENTS NEVER DID ANY OF THIS BUT I ALWAYS GOT LATEST STUFF so if any one wants to intemidate me i tell em I HAVE SEEN IT BEFORE |

solomix10:most clergy men don't expose their kids to good values, rather they are too strict and controlling. they don't know the difference between being disciplined and being strict. for instance, don't wear trousers (no reason given, just instructions), in this case the child's brain will automatically start looking for how to get it and use it secretly. 2nd scenario, a child that wears and the parents guide on its not good to expose your body as it endangers ur life, such kids will even have trousers and know when not to wear it. just like parents that lock beverages in their room and those that taught their kids to manage the tin for 2 weeks, the first will steal if opportunity presents itself, while the second will see it and not drink all d time to preserve it for that period. the 1st scenarios are being strict/depriving them while the 2nds are teaching them to be disciplined 5 Likes |

I stand to be corrected.... Parents are the ones that cause it.... They always show their inadequacies in the open.... The average parent believes that disciplining the child at every turn is the way both in open and secret........ Suddenly the children no longer talk much to the parents to avoid them over reacting and even hide things from them.... I lived in lagos for a while before going to warri..... And i can tell you its almost the same everywhere.... If the parents are too careless then the child goes haywire..... This is to exclude orphans who don't have anyone....... |

to the topic 1. be friendly with ur kids and know where to draw the lines. 2. let them make some little mistakes as mistakes are sometimes the best teacher. this way they will see what u are teaching them is for their benefit 3. teach not force ur beliefs on them. everyone is wired differently 4. don't be quick to condemn them. they are usually very confrontational and on the defensive at this age. above all, pray for Gods direction in handling them |

Vdsc:at home, we are allowed to go out to wherever we want as far as we live the correct details and come home before 7pm..... We aren't wayward... Quite on the contrary.... If you hold a child against something the child will always want to know why and what that is.... It just depends on the will of the child..... That is not to say that we arent disciplined at home.... If we Bleep around the beating ehnn na die.... You self go shock..... All am trying to say is that freedom is allowed at a certain time.... Being too strict is not so good... 1 Like |

It starts from when the child begins to see, talk and hear. You don’t have to wait till he or she is a teenager. A whole lot comes with puberty which happens at the teenage years I. e physical, sexual and emotional awareness. The outcome of this depends on how the child has been made to see life. It’s not about how rich or poor one is but what one values. For instance, we have seen the children of poor people behave and we have also seen the children of some rich misbehave. Some girls have rich fathers but they still do runs, some guys still do rituals. How a child is positioned to see life in school and at home is very important. A child whose parent values money more than doing the right thing might be tempted to follow this same part. Moreso, at this age, there is a chance their actions is affected by what their peers are doing. It is called peer pressure. How can you deal with peer pressure? Surround your children with the children of people whom you share similar values with. This can help reduce the pressure of others. Nigeria is a money driven economy not values. An average Nigerian is much bothered about the car, clothe and money he has in account. Blveryvmuch what is obtainable in most black economies. A life that is not impact driven is morally corrupted. People who live this life always want a fast way, they are not patient. This is the corruption that reflects at every level in the country. You see why there is an increase in juveline cases. It’s a Society with the wrong values. We all need to have the right thinking. In all,God’s grace is needed, never stop seeking his face. 2 Likes |
