50 grams #15,000 naira,25 grams #10,000 naira,we even did another nursery today to Target the elusive dry season December and next year Easter market.

Our research in progress of how to produce garden eggplant in dry season is giving results,we wanted to use sacks to prevent certain issues we have with our previous failed dry season projects,sacks lift the crops off the very hot soil and created another micro climate more suitable for high production and healthy crops,our sack farm test crop is more than healthy and flowering heavily,we have proceeded to start the sack farm with a nursery prepared today, hopefully by September we will start harvesting and push it through to may next year hopefully,3000 crops in 3000 sacks it will not be an easy road,but the first shots has been fired.

yes,we have done an eggplant farm that yielded from April to October and it was still producing but rain stopped falling and also fruit borers invaded the farm we left it,but this time. we will irrigate it when rain stops and be ready to attack fruit borers.

no we don't,we are based in the rural area and such things are free,we discovered that continuous mono cropping of vegetables on a particular site depletes the soil nutrients fast making it in fertile,so instead of running around the bush doing crop rotation or shifting cultivation,we use sack to bring the fertile soil to our base,it is a classic example of mountain going to mahmmed.

one acre is 6 plots and 4000 meters of 60 cm spaced drip covers it,so it is safe to estimate 10,000 meters for 1 hectare (15 plots)

10 gram is #5.000(3000+seeds)

Target market period for serious farmers is march- June.

The price of one sugar bag garden egg sold for #12,000 march, #11,000 April, #10,000 may. So to harvest by Easter festival next year mean farmers will do nursery by 1-2nd week December, transplant into single grow module tru January and pushed out on field by middle February by march ending harvesting will start,that period is when u get the highest price for garden egg in the year,we will do our own nursery by 3 December we have 4 plots idle to push 2000 stands on it,hopefully by the results we got this year from test run of 700 stands,we will be getting not less than 7-10 bags of garden egg every 4 days from 2000 stands.

Cameroon pepper is purely a habanero heirloom variety that has been cultivated over generations and has adapted to tropical conditions and high disease pressure cause by excess humidity, while avenir f1 is a hybrid scotch bonnet variety, while the unique taste of Cameron pepper is different from yellow nsukka pepper and avenir,they all have different flavors and aroma.

for commercial farming operation,yellow scorpion will beat yellow nsukka pepper in profitability due to it's big size,a land you will harvest 5 bags of nsukka variety will give you 6-7 bags scorpion due to big size,as you can see on the pics below side by side comparison or red/yellow scorpion with ordinary OPV variety like nsukka pepper.

we did nursery on 2 DEC and it was a success,it germinated 90%,I wonder how this Cameroon guys use to preserve the seed,we are fighting to see if we can get 3000 stands producing by easter,next 2 weeks we will transplant it into single grow modules they will stay there for 4 weeks before it is taken to the field,using SGM makes everything easy irrigation, spraying, you pick the best etc,easter last year 1 bag of garden egg sold for #12,000,hmmm,by Easter the crops will still be on 30-40% production even that will be 7-10 bags every 4 days by 3000 stands.we will not miss this bonanza.

it takes the same 4-5 days but the growth,vigor and movement is poor during rainy season,the perfect time to do that your 10 plots project is,you do nursery December 20-28,put in single grow bags January 15-20 in a well shaded location,by this time you must have finished preparing the land, January ending top the whole crops, February 1st week-2nd week field transplant.plant avenir 50% and efia 50%,to get a good mix of big , medium and small fruits,avenir is just too big.you will start harvesting by Easter or April and if your management is good,you will harvest till next dry season.

no sir,efia is just ordinary hausa pepper with no certificate,that why it is cheap,any pepper variety with high pedigree,aroma,spice and flavour will not be cheap,red piquante is #4500 for 5 grams of 900 seeds,avenir is #4200 for 5 grams,red scorpion is #3500 for 5 grams,super habanero and co,there is a reason for something to be cheap,I remembered when I got 100 grams of pointsett cucumbers at #2k and shunned cu999 selling at #7k for 50 grams,but in 45-50 days I realized why pointsett is cheap.
