They are currently feeding on Livestock Feeds. 1st pix is Week 17, 2nd pix is Week 20.

I have stopped nairaland activities for almost a year now but your post made me log on because I have experienced exactly this problem with my layers.

I can see that so many people (both the experienced ones and theoretical farmers have also contributed).

I strongly suspect BAD STOCK from the hatchery. If you don't get up to 60% yeild by 26th week, I advise (and very strongly) SELL OFF all the birds with immediate effect and buy new set. There is no remedy for bad stock. It will run you into great debt . The best result you will ever get from them is less than 70% whatever you do.

Get your birds from trusted and reputable hatcheries.

A word is enough for the wise. If you like, get point of lay birds but like I said, do everything in the books and wait for 26th week. If miracle hasn't happened, sell off and use the money to get a replacement.

At 17 weeks, I switched to a formulation prepared by self called pre layers feed recommended by an expert in layers and they ate that for like 3 weeks before it was advised to swtich back to grower pending when they will start dropping. The vaccines given to them so far its Lasota, gomboro, deworm and multivitamin... I don't know the precise weeks they were administered. They once had Newcastle disease that affected them in their neck and it was controlled. They are on the top feed, and I use them deep litter system.
They are currently feeding on Livestock Feeds. 1st pix is Week 17, 2nd pix is Week 20.

We used to have a poultry. Ours started laying from 26th week and the doctor said it was normal. You just have to be patient. They will lay.

from your picture, those layers have poor body development. hope you are not rationing feed for them? at that age, they should not be consuming less than 92 gram per bird that's approximately 8kg per day for the 86 birds. they wont lay unless they attain the right weight of between 1.2 - 1.5kg per bird. until their comb and wattle is developed, they wont lay.

At my farm,we skipped mareks for our layers but nemesis caught up just recently
our production has been relatively poor

it all depends on ur birds(some take longer than 20weeks and at times its lesser),
they would lay in the long run

Also,be careful how u change feeds for them
it affects them also in one way or the other
