I received a personal message on twitter by someone asking my take on celebration of Christmas. I took time in 1997 to study the origin of Christmas and the role Constantine played. As some of us may know, the origin of Christmas, could be traced to ancient
Rome. Christmas was a day for celebrating the Sun god. However, because Constantine was a Christian, the day was changed to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ after a long battle with the Roman native believers.. Prior to this time, professed Christians were slaughtered on the day of the sun god celebration. This was about 386 AD. Many people claim that Christmas should not be celebrated because it has links to roman gods in origin. If we must talk about origin, do you know that every day of the week is dedicated and named after a roman god? SUN day, MOON day, Tool sday,WODEN sday,THOR sday,FREYJA sday SATURN sday? all names of Pagan gods. We all use these days of the week, Sunday services we all attend has its origin from the Roman god. Whether Our Lord Jesus Christ was born on 25th December called Christmas day or not is immaterial to me. The most important thing is that a Saviour was born to salvage mankind from God's wrath .If Christ was not born, my life would have been miserable. Thank you Father for giving us Jesus Christ. "The earth is the lords and his fullness thereof." Everyday belongs to God including Christmas day. May I also state that culture and traditions have always been borrowed in history. That a land was used by pagans in the past doesn't stop Christians from building a church on the same land. What is the origin of birthdays? We all learnt to celebrate our birthdays because we grew up seeing people do it. The greatest gift is choice and that choice is to lead us into daring and innovative decisions to better our lives.
Above all, Christmas should be for those who know Christ because its about Him. If You don’t know Him and celebrate. You are probably celebrating something else.
well records have shown he wasn't even born on that day

Controversial media personality Daddy Freeze has shared his views about the celebration of Christmas.
He shared the post above which said Christmas is for pagans with the caption;

”Saying Christmas is about Christ is like using bible verses as the subtitles for a porn movie.

The word ‘pornea’ in Greek meant prostitution and is the origin of the word pornography.

In many instances, God himself likened idolatry and paganism to prostitution.

God bless you for the scholarly response with spiritual depth.

Our God created the heaven and earth for the fact that the devil through paganism has made people to celebrate a particular day as a ritual day does not stop christian from also celebrating the birth of the most important gift to mankind on that day. The big question is are we Christian worshiping the same idol? The answer is NO. Can God deliver a pagan priest and make him an instrument to work out His purpose? The answer is YES, he used even Nebuchadnezzar, Cyrus etc.

However for Christmas to have God's desired impact in your life, you must have experiential salvation. Being Born again by acknowledging your sins, confessing with deep repentance and receive pardon through faith. It is not a mental acceptance of Christ as personal Lord and saviour, it is an experience that comes from deep prayer of repentance.

CHRIST IS BORN !

Before Christianity came the people then we're all pagans. That's why you have days named after their god's. But when Christianity came they rejected their false gods and accepted Christ as their God. Now tell me how can one be telling me not to celebrate Christ birthday because one rejected false god had a feast day on that day. Who still worship the false sun god.?People are just looking for ways to pull down Christianity but I would leave Christ to fight his battle because he is the one true God.

Christmas is not for pagans. Some gods were worship the same day. And someone thought it wise to celebrate the Lord Jesus on the same day. What is bad in that.

Now tell me which day a god is not being worshipped somewhere. gods are worshiped every second somewhere in the world. So if some people are worshiping Sango on a particular day and I chose same day to worship mine. Tell me my offence in doing that.

Muslims were not worshiping on Sunday before but because many of their kids go to Church with their friends on Sunday, they started going to worship on Sunday and named it Nasfat. And have you seen any Christian Body quarrel with them over worshiping on Sunday. Why because Nobody owns any day every day belongs to everyone.

So Christmas belongs to Christians.

You don't understand anything about Ibadaat. Don't misquote Islam in an attempt to back your erring practices. There is a reason why we establish this dawaah gatherings.

It's okay to celebrate Christmas, but if you felt otherwise then you may dissociate your self from the celebration of Christmas. Either way it's simply your choice, but don't judge those who chooses to celebrate, expecialy in godly manner. Merry Christmas folks!

Just like a sinner saved by Christ can no longer be called a sinner, a day previously used for pagan worship taken over by the celebration of Christ does not make such celebration pagan. God is the creator of all days no matter what pagans have historically done with any such day ; no Roman idol has a claim to owning any day. On Christmas Day, we give thanks to God for the great a salvation he has given unto us! Merry Christmas!

THE WINTER SOLSTICE
&
THE CHRISTIAN CHRISTMAS:

*VARIANTS OF ASTROLATRY OR WORSHIP OF THE HEAVENLY LUMINARIES.*

[By Brother IJW. Amandonna ]

We Christians have been programmed and compelled, thanks to the 4th century imperial decree of the Roman emperor Constantine the Great, to celebrate Christmas and the 25th of December of every year as the "actual" and official birth day of Jesus the Christ, the presumed "founder" of Christianity. But any intelligent and critical Bible reader knows that the biblical Jesus WAS NOT born in winter.

I derive the authority to assert thus from the Book of Luke 2: 8. It clearly states that at the time of birth of the biblical Jesus, "shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night." Well, everybody knows that shepherds DO NOT stay out in the wintery December night to watch over their flock. Common sense should tell us that the weather is damn too cold and inclement for such outside activity!

Everything about our current Christmas festivities is a wholesale christianisation of ancient Pagan astrotheological festivals and ritualisms enacted to commemorate the Winter Solstice and the mythical REBIRTH of the Glorious Sun on the 25th of December of every year.

More than 30 thousand years anterior to the advent of the Christian religion and the supposed birth of the biblical Jesus, Sun and Nature Worshippers across the prehistoric world have always marked the midnight of the 21st of December as the date their "Most High" Sun King of kings crosses the Tropics of Capricorn and progresses to the lowest point in the Sun's southern journey. This is when we experience the longest night and the shortest day light. It is at this period that the Glorious Sun "appears" to the untrained eyes to be "standing still." For this reason, it was said by devotees of the astrotheological cults that the Glorious Sun "died" and descended into "Hades, " "Amenti, " or "Hell" for 3 days and 3 nights.

At the end of the 3 days descent into the proverbial Egyptian Amenti or the Christian Hell, the Pagan and ancient worshippers of the Glorious Sun of GOD will look to the sky midnight of 24th or early mornings of 25th December for the cosmic signs signalling and heralding the REBIRTH of the Messianic Baby Sun. The natural heavenly signs were the appearance of the 3 Stars on the Belt of Orion, called "The 3 Kings," that were in alignment with the heliacal star, SIRIUS (SOTHIS) or VENUS, "The Brightest Star in the East." In the wee hours of 25th December, the "3 kings" on the Belt of Orion are seen "following" the brightest star of the morning, Sirius or Venus, as if they were heralding and paying homage to the New Born Sun King in the East.

As a wholesale personification of the Glorious Sun, the writers of the birth story of the biblical Jesus presented him exactly as the christianised variant of the ancient and Pagan Sun-God of the astrotheological cults of antiquity. In the plagiarised Christian version, the "3 kings" and stars on the Belt of Orion are called "The 3 Wise Men;" the bright morning star in the East at the dawn of 25th December, Sirius or Venus, is christianised as "The Star of Bethlehem; " and the biblical Jesus squarely assumes the role of the Glorious Sun.

The birth story of the biblical Jesus was written in the sky and annually dramatised by the heavenly luminaries from the beginning of Time! It is for this reason that the traditional birthday of ALL the "Suns of God" and "Sons of God" of the Mystery Tradition, Pagan cults and astrotheological religions of the pre-christian epoch such as Mardurk, Adonis, Baal, Osiris, Horus, Dionysus, Apollo, Hercules and Bacchus et al was a winter event FIXED on the 25th of December of every year. It had to be so because ALL these mythic saviours of the astrotheological cults were personifications of the Glorious ATON.

ALL HAIL JESUS CHRIST, THE GLORIOUS SUN OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION!!!
