IamaNigerianGuy:This is not an issue I have put any thought into before now but your points give me reason to think. Anyway, the people who do it regardless of what you think are their vulnerabilities -- economic and otherwise do it out of their own freewill. I don't think anyone is forced into doing it. In fact, no woman would like her child to be carried by a person who is not committed to the cause (I presume). I think your claims of immorality and exploitation are exaggerated. The poor always serve the rich, it is the way of the world. Why would you expect a rich woman to be surrogate for a poor woman? This is a business for the surrogate. Can the poor woman pay? There is nothing wrong in it as long as all parties involved are in it of their own accord. 3 Likes |

IamaNigerianGuy: The tech you used to type this was hitherto unknown to Africa, why don't you just avoid using it? Go and be killing people for rituals to your gods na, since you are a black man who prefers his black backwards lifestyle I even thought you were an atheist before You're definitely far from being one because atheism has no bearing with Africa 1 Like |

Ranchhoddas: That's the point. They do not do it of their own accord. Nobody gets up in the morning and says 'I want to be a surrogate mother to help couple ABC'. Practically all surrogate mothers are poor and desperate. Sometimes, these people looking for surrogates go to third world countries especially India to find a victim. We should not import all sorts of rubbish into our country. If you can't have a baby, adopt |

I support surrogacy I support adoption It will help to eliminate problems of childless marriage Men won't be hopping around looking for a woman to pregnant outside because the wife couldn't take in Women won't be hopping around to bring in another man's pregnancy and impose on her husband just because pride did not allow the man to declare that he is impotent With this every family members will mind their business not to poke nose It can happen to anyone Even a man that made ladies have abortion during his single days might not be able to pregnant his wife during marriage Anything can lead to impotency in men Like wise anything can lead to poor egg production in women That's life for you 1 Like |

If surrogacy is necessary and practicable in Nigeria, it should be considered. But It seems like many Nigerians don't know what is best for Nigeria. And it must also be said that good things can be done badly. Science is knowledge but the knowledge could be about either the positive or negative.Wisdom is indispensable to everyone. |

IamaNigerianGuy:I know of a woman in her 30s who's had all her kids, but volunteered to be a surrogate for her sister to have a child. She even decided to do it for other childless couples. It's a choice. It's only wrong when some people are using helpless young girls to make money from it. 1 Like |

IamaNigerianGuy: There is nothing shady about it and it is not in all cases that people do it for financial gains. I've read of a story where a mother acted as a surrogate for her daughter who lost her uterus following a battle with ovarian cancer. Adoption is good but there is nothing wrong with wanting to have your biological children too. Pregnancy is not a life threatening condition so I don't know what risks and dangers you are talking about. 1 Like |

IamaNigerianGuy: If u don't know your culture take a book and read... Surrogacy is not new to most African culture and it's widely practiced as a way to secure n entrench the African patriarchal system.... Ever heard of the traditional practice of women getting married to women..... What do u think it's all about..... Anything the ignorant n arrogant black doesn't understand, he quickly disparage it as corrupt foreign culture... He won't make any effort to enlighten his mind n develop himself.... Small wonder few Afrocentric men makes sense when they talk..... 1 Like |
