mrmayor:

So everyone is unhappy about the ranking of their State, I don't blame you. I want to see the ranking of what each State/ LGA contributes to Federal Account

The list for states is in the order;

1. Akwa Ibom
2. Rivers
3. Delta
4. Bayelsa

The above states contribute about 80% of Nigeria's total yearly earnings.

Ghana is hoping to make $1 billion dollars from oil sale next year, yet different calibre of Nigerians from the high and mighty, to the low and sublime, are all rushing to buy and invest in houses in Ghana. I was suprise when a friend of mine here in London said he has almost finish building his house in Ghana and he is a Nigerian. I said why Ghana and not Nigeria, he said Ghana is just well organise than Nigeria, although he has land in Abuja which he is also developing too, but most likely he told me his house in Ghana would be ready b4 the one in Abuja.

The moral of the story is Rivers State gets $3 billion dollars from the fedeartion account including direvatives, yet her population is under 5 million where-as Ghana a soverreign nation with a popultion of 18 million people would be expecting a 3rd of what River's State currently gets. Why are Nigerians investing in Ghana and not in Rivers, Bayelsa OR Akwa Ibom.

The simple answer to this question is that all 3 Governors are corrupt, they are clueless rogues only ready to line up their own pocktets, the income accrued to Rivers, Bayelsa, and Akwa Ibom is enough to turn those places into an eldorado.

River's planned a ring road got cancelled.

Now River State is planning to build a monorail system I hope this comes to fusion.

dont compare nigrian mentality to ghananian its quite different,

^^^^^^

ghana and nigeria are very very different

and wud never ever be the same,

if ghana were to have the same complexities as nigeria, they would have folded up by now,

imagine how easy it wud be to have rivers state as a country, corruption would be less, accountability would be easily enforced as the spotlight would be on the leadership,

nigeria and ghana in the sense of corrruption cud be likened to the scenario of looking for a pin in a basket of haystack (ghana) and also looking for the same type of pin in a staduim of haystack (nigeria) infested with snakes, scorpions, centipedes.

so leave that ting joooorrr

Sadly the welfare and wellbeing of any citizen in a country or state doesn't necessarily depend on her GDP or GNP.
In other words, citizens of yobe state 'with the lowest GDP' can enjoy a better condition of living than the lagosians even though lagos has the highest GDP.
the most important thing is fairness and equity in spending the money no matter how little, if every state govnor can distribute their recources fairly and stop looting the state's money then their will be very little poverty in our states/country.

I live in uk, i realised that as a country nigeria is richer and making more money than the uk! But our problem is corruption, lack of equity and fairness. govnors come over here(uk), depositing billions of pounds of their state in uk accounts (money meant for the civil servants!) it's sad.

Pls the statisticians who came up with this table/ranking should pls publish the account of how these money is been spent state by state.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
