In a relationship when one party asks the other “ How was your day?” Do we ask because it’s an expectation and it’s part of the routine of exchanging superficial pleasantries?
Or do we ask with the intention not only wanting to know how external factors impacted on that person as well as their emotional and mental well being?
If the breadwinner is experiencing undue pressure financially especially in tandem with a domestic life that is not conducive can that person talk about how they really feel to the person they are with or is everything externalised until that person has a stroke and everyone acts shocked.

Finally do you feel comfortable talking about how you really feel or is there a fear of being emotionally vulnerable?
