Both Enugu airport and NIger bridge were awarded in such a way that it will continue no matter who is ruling, igbos are not fo.ols. Enugu airport is from Chinese loan, Niger bridge is BoT model by Julius Berger who provide the bulk of the finance, FG has since paid its own commitment. Buhari should go do the remaining sections Enugu onitsha expressway if he want to be taken seriously . Best post so far in this thread. Osyabj: Gee numu nti. Ngige will run and win under APC come 2017. Ngige won his first Senate seat under ACN, the so called "youruba party" remember? All these boastings from people who don't know Anambra dynamics are rubish. After boasting that Rochas and APC will never win in Imo, Rochas won relection under APC. Now APC won Senatorial seat, with Ben Uwajumogu, the Deputy Senate president in waiting after the Thief and forger, Ekweremadu is kicked out.
The fact is that upwards of 50% or more of Anambra voters are from Idemili North and South LGAs, Ngige's home turf. The works of Ngige in this two LGA is legendary.
Further, Obiano DID NOT win the last election. The planet including inec said that the election was mindlessly rigged by Otuoke thief, jonathan and his army. Even OBJ chastisized Jonathan for rigging in Obiano.
The pdp candidate, Nwoye said he had never witnessed an election where the army was used to enforce the writing of results for thief Obi stooge, Obiano.
Bottomline, the Inec, The Army, the Police are all controlled by APC. In any free and fair Governorship election in Anambra Ngige will win 100 out of 100 times.
As noted in the article, "Before then, the marshal plan APC has for Nigeria would have been on ground properly as we believe that will help us during the campaigns" That "us" is Ngige himself. Period.
Take that to the bank and cash it. I did nt want to comment here until I just saw this post of urs. Point of correction sir, I have not seen an election as free as that of Anambra State. I played a principal role as a corp member then. I was serving in delta and we all went to Anambra for the elections. We conducted elections for senate delta central 3 weeks before Anambra elections and we (corp members) know the difference between election in delta and that of anambra. AnamCity: Anambra Broadcasting Service(ABS) now on StarTimes
In what appears to be the unveiling of the laudable achievements of Gov Willie Obiano of Anambra State in Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, the Managing Director of the state-owned broadcasting firm, Uche Nworah has said “no other government in the history of the state has cared so much about ABS than Chief Willie Obiano”.
Speaking on the 6th Edition of Anambra Scorecard, Mr Nworah stated that the ongoing rebranding of ABS started with the introduction of Mission and Vision statements to guide the institution’s rise to fame.
He explained that the vision of ABS is to become “A world-class media brand and the network of choice for Ndi Anambra at home and in Diaspora for Anambra, Nigeria, and global news, information, education and entertainment” with a mission “to effectively use the ABS network to project Brand Anambra, the people, their values and the developmental strides of the state government”.
Mr Nworah listed the achievements of Gov Obiano who met almost moribund broadcasting outfit in less than 2 years in office in to include: Ongoing rebranding and positioning of ABS; Young presenters recruitment and introduction of new exciting programmes; Launch of new projects e.g Miss Anambra Peagent, Heartbeat Magazine, Xmas Discount Market, Anambra Beauty and Make Up Fair, Made in Anambra Concert and ABS Excellence Awards; Improved content generation and service provision; Viewing of ABS on Startimes Channel 113; Streaming of ABS on Live Stream for abroad audience; ABS now on quick blog http://www.absradiotv.com for world audience and many more…
While answering a question on the digitalization project flagged off by Gov Obiano, Mr Nworah said: “You will understand that broadcast equipments are not off-the shelf items. They are customised for the client. Currently the 20KW FM transmitters have been delivered and fully installed but not yet commissioned. These will be commissioned when the ongoing construction of the Radio and TV studios in Awka are completed by Dec 2015”
He said “the greatest show of faith by His Excellency is the commitment to fully digitise ABS. This process is ongoing”.
For audience beyond Ananbra State, Mr Nworah noted that “at the moment ABS can be seen on Startimes Channel 113. Once our digitisation process is complete, we have the promise of the authorities that ABS will be hooked onto the DSTV network. In the interim, Ndi Anambra the world over can now listen to us live via our websitewww.absradiotv.com”
Earlier, the moderator of Anambra Scorecard, Ifeanyichukwu Aniagoh, commended Mr Uche Nworah for his commitment and for being able to attend the programme which presents thousands of Ndi Anambra both home and in Diaspora the opportunity to effectively engage their government. More and more good news coming out from this beautiful state called ANAMBRA. |

AnamCity: Oil & Gas
Anambra State is blessed with over one billion barrels and 30 trillion cubic feet of oil and gas. Our target is to have a fully developed Oil & Gas sector by 2018. We intend to achieve this through 3 broad areas of intervention – policy formulation & infrastructure development, private sector participation and community re-orientation.
In the area of Policy formulation, we have ensured that do not make the same mistakes of our neighbours by crafting far-sighted policies and statutes to drive the development of this sector. To facilitate this, my bill proposing the establishment of the Anambra State Oil & Gas Development Agency was passed into law on April 17, 2014 by the Anambra State House of Assembly.
As a follow up, we also set up the Oil and Gas Advisory Committee headed by our very own Dr. Emmanuel Egbogah, the former Special Adviser to the President on Petroleum Matters. This committee is charged with drafting a comprehensive Blueprint for the Oil & Gas sector and advising the State on the necessary steps that would ensure the recognition of Anambra as the 10th Oil Producing State in Nigeria.
Work has reached advanced stages on the construction of access roads and bridges to the oil-fields in Aguleri. We have revalidated our license to build an international cargo airport in Umueri. The economic importance of the proposed airport cannot be over-emphasized. We have concluded plans to pipe ATK (aviation fuel) from the Orient Petroleum Refinery in Umuleri to the Airport where a storage facility will be built for it. The idea is for the airport to serve as a major hub for the re-fuelling of international flights in West Africa. We have since flagged off the construction of three dual-carriage ways that will open up access to the proposed airport from three strategic directions – Umueri, Awkuzu and Nteje axis.
Still on Oil & Gas, we are partnering with UD Integrated Petroleum Production Development Company, UDIPPCO, and Falcon Corporation Limited to invest in the development of our gas-to-power initiative in the State.
UDIPPCO has already commenced the building of a central gas processing facility in Umerum, which will produce lean gas that will serve as feedstock for various gas utilization projects, including an 80MW power plant in the first instance; and subsequently, a urea/fertilizer plant, and a methanol plant.
Similarly, Falcon Corporation plans to pipe Compressed Natural Gas and Liquefied Natural Gas across 3 strategic locations in the State. This initiative will facilitate the transportation of natural gas across the state.
We also have a PPP arrangement with STANEL Petroleum for the construction of tank farms for the storage of petroleum products in the State.
These investments will spur the Industrialization of our dear state, drive Agriculture, most especially agri-business and Trade & Commerce which are all key economic pillars of my Administration. Love this. |

VickJames: People are saying how do we make these people super-rich.
1. We should learn to buy from our igbo manufacturers. I know we have different exotic cars in the country and its a shame that igbos do not patronise innoson cars. After the effort made by this man to build these cars, we still don't patronise him. We need to understand that if we patronise, he expands, he will build better cars with better specifications and he will be able to expand even to europe. Ibeto is trying to build his cement factory. Igbos should patronise him alone. Since he is going to employ our brothers, he should be patronised. Our brothers should be given artificial monopoly and let them enjoy it. The only thing we want these companies to do is open doors for servicing companies owned by igbos, so that wealth can be spread. We're going to mail these people too. One problem I have with Ibeto and Innoson is their inability to advertise and brand themselves as world class car manufacturing companies. The noise about innoson should fill the ears of africa.
2. We should have a distribution network. This network will cut across the whole country and in different states. They must get their products fast and when due. These distributors will be igbos. They'll make sure that their product will be seen by almost everyone in their respect states.
3. Government should give them waiver, give them undue advantage. Let them enjoy the environment.
Reasons for making these people super-rich are these:
1. When they become rich in billion dollars, they will be able to attract investors to the region by relating with these investors.
2. These investors will see the region as fertile land to invest. They will now be open to the different opportunities in the region. Like the saying goes, rich man relates with rich man.
3. As part of the agreement on monopoly, they're going to sign an agreement to invite investors into the region.
4. One billionaire in dollars, will give rise to 10+ millionaires in dollars, and so on. These men will be able to create thousands of job for our teeming graduate because they'll employ our people.
5. These billionaires will build offices and industries in the region. This will make servicing companies, banks, insurance companies, advertising companies to locate their businesses close.
6. We're not going to give them total monopoly, we will have modular companies who will use the shining light of their big names to sell their own goods.
7. Their names will sell our region to the world and they will see us as good people for business. This will make foreign investors key into long term investment in the region.
I am only in love with my region, don't be annoyed. VickyJames, please I want us to focus only on the seaport project that u suggested. I know that we already have billionaires in the east and all what we need to do is to bring them together or make them see the importance of this project. For this project to work, the following must be achieved, meet with patriotic Igbo forum/bodies like IYM(Igbo Youth Movement), I have read most of the speech by their leader and he is as passionate for Igbo like any one here. And inform them about this great decision (it is not the 1st time that Igbos are contributing for a project) IYM have enough connection to take this ideal to Igbos outside the shores of this country. We need to open an account where our brothers can contribute the little they have about this project (I mean make it public, even in radio and television stations all over the country). We need to appoint men like Emeka Ayoaku(former secretary general of commonwealth) or Prof Ben akubueze as people that will be in charge of this monthly contributions both in Nigeria and Outside the country. Lastly we can set target for our self like 2 years where Igbos can do voluntary contributions monthly for a period of 24months. Note: we will face opposition a lot, they will even laugh at us,will deceive us that they will build it for us and use TheNation and other media channels to criticize us. But we need to stay focused and determined not to give up. |
Politics › Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by 4dankey: 5:03pm On Sep 20, 2015 |
nwanlecha: @VickJames Please, count me in. I am very passionate about anything that has to do with restoring Igboland to it's destined glory. I may not have much right now, (emphasis on 'right now'), but I will be willing to contribute whatever little I have to see to the success of this venture. Secondly, pay no mind to those who keep trying to divide Ndi Igbo on this forum. I hardly come on this forum but if there is one thing I have noticed, it is that, that boy called chino is not an Igbo man and most certainly not from Anambra State. No true nwafor Igbo would be doing the kind of things he and abagworo do on this forum simply to stir up strife among Ndi Igbo. Avoid those two like leprosy please. Once again, do keep me posted on any New development concerning this project. Chukwu gozie gi. I thought I was the only 1 that have noticed this, I want people to know that this is a faceless forum and any body can claim identity. Chino is not an Igbo boy, right from when this thread started he have being trying all he can to derail it to no avail. This suggestion by Vicky James have made my day and I wish we all can contribute and make it better. |
Politics › Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by 4dankey: 1:22pm On Sep 20, 2015 |
VickJames: With the few people I've met and discussed with. These project should be strictly private. That will make it come to life faster because if we wait for the governors to do it, we're strictly on a long thing.
We brought out different ways to make these things happen. We need to initiate what's called "igbo and diaspora tax" system. This is a kind of tax system where igbos all over the place can donate an amount which is very comfortable to them with respect to their income every month. For a period of 5years. The diaspora tax system will be able to yield atleast 100billion every 3months if followed diligently. By the end of a year, we already have 400billion to do this project. With the Chinese already in the business of developing region and manage them for a particular time. We can partner with them and build the seaport together. We will only need to pay royalty to the state government when we finish it. I know its not easy but we're going to connect with our politicians in our region to bring this up in the national assembly and give us the go-ahead to fund the project ourselves, so that federal govt will not give us excuses. If we can build many major markets around the country, we can come together and build this thing with low import and export duty from people of igboland.
Another way make these things happen is to enrich our already rich men. We will enrich to billionaires in dollars. We will build home-grown billionaires in dollars. This will enable us not only woo investors but will see these guys as eye-openers that the region can actually give them money if they invest. Yes, enrich them but with a prize! If we enrich them, they'll have the capacity to build world class factories and outlets and manage them well while employing our youths in business. These people will not be given money but will be supported and given a kind of monopoly (not total monopoly), that will make them produce. They will control the manufacturing but other people will control the distribution and sales of what they produce. This will spread wealth among people and in a way they still maintain the wealth within the region.
We will need our brothers to bank in one particular bank and do transaction there, yes, that's what we should do. This bank will not only save our money but will also go into the research of new business opportunities and enlighten our businessmen on different businesses. This bank will also give payable loans to business owners that will delve into such businesses. We already have Zenith bank and Fidelity Bank. They're our best bet since its own by our brothers. This bank will also be able to fund many infrastructural businesses in the region.
Our government should continue using money to build infrastructure. But they also need to use money to do business abroad! Yes, our government shouldn't be a government of pay salaries and repair roads alone. If our state government can do business with state fund. That's a good one! The profit gotten this business done outside this shores will make us forever rich. We won't need to wait for federal government for allocation before we pay salaries and finish infrastructural facilities. Buy shares abroad, do business with the with booming economies. Sell goods abroad and build real-estates abroad. They will give the state money and they won't be poor.
There are many other things I'll love to say, but my fingers are aching me and don't mind my grammar pls. You are a true son of your father. This is a faceless forum where so many people come and just type rubbish. Some have being deceiving others that they are Igbo since the start of this thread, but this write up shows some1 that want Igbos to come together & develop their own land. Do u know that am always ashamed when we go to beg FG to come and help us to build a 14km second niger bridge(when Anambra and delta can build it themselves). Even though I am happy with where we are right now, after a brutal 3years war(that saw almost everything important to us destroyed). I still want us to criticize our governors(constructively) & force them to embark on project that will change the lives of every1 of us. It is a painful fact that lagos and ogun(agbara & ota) have more industries than South East Nigeria. Believe me, only Lagos would have being able to compete with ABA if not for the 16years lack of darkness that the state have witnessed. Anambra is a state that is about to explode right now, cos they are so many developments taking place right now(even though south east have a poor information system). Since the beginning of this thread I have always support the assertion that peter obi tried in Anambra state, but where he failed for me is his inability to convince jonathan to give us a Seaport. I have said it times with number here that we only need a seaport to develop & get to where we are supposed to be. We will keep up struggling the way we are now until we get a direct assess to the sea. My brother please continue on your good plan and please am also interested in this your ideal(even though I have little or nothing to contribute financially cos of my work but I don't mind to support with the little I have even though it is 1k every month and also tell every1 I know about it) and my prayer is that it will come to past. Please be careful cos so many people here are neither Igbo or want our progress. |

VickJames: I am not here to derail this thread but I am here to enlighten many of us of the possibilities the eastern part of the country can give to its people.
We have two access to the sea, though, its alittle far from the sea but God knows why he did that for us. He knows that we aren't lazy and we can do something about our situation when the need arises. I know my people are deep-thinkers and know that we're the light of Africa in many aspects. If you look well at the Nigerian Map, you'll see that we have direct access to the different parts of the country without difficulty. Please note that this is a blessing in all ramifications.
Please, I want you all to also understand, we don't have governors who have large pool of cash to spend and our states cannot get such loans from any part of the world without our help. I need you all not to look at this things as unnecessary but think deep and see the importance of this message. What our governors are doing will only develop our region alittle no matter how they try to develop it. The sincere truth is that we're the only ones that can develop this region from our collective efforts and forgetting the fact that we're from different states.
What am I saying? No matter how huge the money needed to create this seaport, we can bring it out from collective effort and see our region develop in an astronomic pace. We don't need the ones in akwa-ibom nor the one in calabar. We need the one in Abia and Imo states. Abia seaport being a priority of the two. If this seaport is finished, by the special grace of God. The region will witness a development that will be very difficult to handle.
Please look at the map very well, if goods enter the region through Abia, we stab the country in the stomach (at the middle). Abia is connected to calabar, akwa ibom, Rivers, Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo, etc. These states apart from Calabar are less than 30 minutes drive from Abia state. Foreign investors will see this has a ready-made market for them because they can spread their tentacles within a short time span within these states and make their monies fast. This will make our region lure thousands of investor for long term investments.
Abia state is better located than lagos. Lagos is at the edge of the country while Abia is at the middle where it can connect different states at thesame time. We should understand the importance of this analysis before throwing it into the trash can.
We should also think again, with the rising agricultural sector in the east, we're planning to start exporting our own agricultural products through our region. This will reduce loss of billions through accident and taxes in Lagos. Since its our port, we will get a lot of discount when exporting these products. What will be produced in the eastern region will be exported through our own port. This will make business easy and we will run our economy ourselves from our own home. It will be very easy to export to Gabon, south africa and other african countries close to us.
I am begging not because I'm a business man neither am I from the government, we should look into this seaport because its our eyes to the world. God never made the mistake of giving us that life-line because he knows we will need in future.
I want an eastern region where development will be evenly distributed and nothing will said about our goods been confiscated in wharf and our brothers running out of business. It is imperative I say this now before it becomes, "we should've done it" kind of situation.
keep this in mind, I am from Anambra state and Nanka to be precise. I am coming back to tell you what Anambra needs to do to destroy one state monopoly as been witnessed in this country. Please what are u trying to say, I mean what message are u trying to pass across? I like this write up and will suggest that we all come together to support it. |

In line with Governor Obiano's aggressive drive to attract investments into Anambra State, yesterday being Wednesday, September 16, 2015, Chief Willie Obiano paid a courtesy call on the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Gu Xiaojie at the Chinese Embassy, Abuja FCT.
Discussions focussed on possible areas of partnership between the Peoples Republic of China and the Anambra State Government. Agriculture, Waste Management, Trade & Commerce, Oil & Gas, Housing among other sectors were extensively discussed.
During deliberations, Mr. Xiaojie expressed a clear understanding of current events in Nigeria as he commended the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano on his successful creation of an enabling environment for the private sector participation over the last 18 months.
Governor Obiano extended an invitation to the Ambassador to visit Anambra at his convenience. He further stated that the State's investment promotion agency, ANSIPPA shall follow up on all discussions and potential partnership opportunities with the Trade and Investment desk at the Embassy. I just love this news. When u have a responsible governor like obiano u notice the change in a lot of things. U see the way the governor is moving round looking for investments through out the country. |
