To women, men are embodiment of strength, protection and stability. However, there is a side to the guy in your life that you may not be aware of. We often think it is a woman’s prerogative to get upset, have crying jags and feel blue.

Women blame many things on the hormonal changes they go through and this is true to a large extent. Because we go through life seldom seeing or expecting to see signs of men’s issues being brought into the open. We often find it hard to deal with the reality that men too have problems and issues of their own.

Male menopause may seem like a huge joke but the men going through it are not laughing. There is a very large male population the world over who go through male menopause each year. Men like their female counterparts do experience hormone imbalances that affect mood swings, sexuality and physical well being.

Men can become emotionally stressed, demonstrating signs of worry, indecisiveness, irritability and depression. Physically they feel fatigues, gain weight, lose sleep and experience short term memory loss. Some degree of erectile dysfunction is a very real possibility and threat to a man. The sexual symptoms exhibited may include fear of sexual failure and a reduced libido.

You may hear of close friends suddenly seeking younger partners – the sole reason is they feel a burning desire to prove themselves. If male menopause which is similar to another round of puberty is not treated, it can end up destroying your marriage. You and your partner need to seek help to address men’s issues of identity, dependence, sexuality, and independence.

While much research and study has gone into male menopause over the years and treatments abound, they tend to focus only on the sexual aspects of the problem. Irritable male syndrome manifests itself in irritability, frustration, anger, anxiety and hypersensitivity. It starts out in a very mild way and quickly escalates to a very serious state. Help is available and you should not delay get the help you need.

Male depression is another destructive problem and should be treated effectively. While a woman will binge on ice cream and chocolate, weep enough to flood the place and generally mope all day, a guy will hold it in until he explodes into anger, alcoholism, drug abuse, womanizing and other self destructive ways.
Reaching out for help is one of the most difficult things for a guy to do but with the love of a good woman to back him, it can be done.
