But what this crook is saying is that by inserting the card into the so-called software he has, he can obtain the full details of the card owner (including his account balance), using the 'security code' of the card (which I suspect means the 3 digit cv.v at the back). The normal POS online/offline swiping levels wouldn't show you account balance, would it? So I guess the criminals here have another setup altogether.
