Don't blame yourself, we all contribute to the mess and it's our duty to do the needful.

Na wa o, no success story from the past 15 pages, that's baaaad undecided
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Matinho: 5:23pm On Jan 09, 2020
Of every 10 Nigerians applying, only 2 or 3 would be successfully granted a visa. Hence the reason you cant see any success story. I think Dubai is capitalizing on the spending power of Nigerians as many have seen Dubai as a suitable alternative rather than the USA.

VO. Where are you going?
Me. Hawaii.
VO. To do what?
Me: To attend a convention.
VO busy checking his system.
VO. Where do you work?

VO. Are you married?
Me. Yes. With 3 kids.
VO busy checking my passports.
VO. Have you travelled out of Nigeria before.
Me. Yes.
VO. Which countries have you visited?
Me. I have visited France a couple times, UK, Netherlands and South Africa.
VO scanning through my passport with UK visa to expire in Feb. Schengen visa to expire in Dec 2020. Two Previous Schengen and SA visas.
VO. Have you ever been refused a visa by Canada or any European country in the past. (Apparently, he's seeing it on his system)
Me. Yes I have been refused before.
VO. Which country?
Me. Canada in 2017.
VO. What happened?
Me. I wanted to attend a Convention in Toronto but was refused.
VO. Go and pay for your visa. Handed a white slip and pink or so paper to me.
Me. Thank you. I went to pay 40700 in cash.

Rejection rate is about 90%. I was the youngest among those granted visa as at when I was there. Students visa applicants got outright refusal. So sad.
I wish you all good luck.

No, you don't need to book any flight for U.S Visa application, I think hotel reservation is more important than flight (even the reservation must be done in such a way you can cancel it free of charge.)

One more thing for the flight, just do an estimate of the number of days you want to spend in U.S that's all, don't forget to include arrival and departure city

Thanks, seyewest.

Now, if the inviting organization in the USA says that it has sent names of visa applicants to our embassies, what exactly did they do? Does the VO have access to that at any time any of us shows up? And what's the chance of securing a visa for a legitimate purpose and to be back??

While you’re waiting for seyewest to answer the other part! I could predict but not accurately guess the outcome of the application if you could answer the below :

Purpose of travel?
Marital status?
Kids?
Travel history?
Occupation?

The U.S Embassy and CBP reserve the right to issue visa and grant entry into the U.S respectively. Your ties to Nigeria must be convincing.
