If they give us land, after some time they will collect it back because they said in Igbo land, land belongs to families and not government. If any of our members dies here, the corpse is taken to Awka for burial.

What type of fvckery is this angry angry

Igbo's in North have total freedom in fact so many of them have assets more than the average Hausa man, but yet they can't reciprocate what the Hausa's are doing for them in their erosion ravaged region?

Stop that, did the north dash those Igbo's the land or property. If you need land anywhere you bring money and pay for it, the East is not a communist country where things are given for free.

Reading most of the comments, I finally understood why the whites don't want blacks coming to their countries.

And later we will criticize Trump for wanting to build the wall sad

Hausas are living happily and peacefully in Igbo Land only that they don't invest there
But I am still finding it difficult to understand while Yorubas are avoiding South East like a man that has Leprosy.

Maybe it's because they are comfortable in their afonja land. You have some Yorubas working in the east as bankers, civil servants and artisans. You don't expect all Yorubas to run away from their peaceful home to the east just to satisfy you. The abokis are already complaining you have refused to sell land to them.

How many Igbo community in the north has land for market and to bury their dead love ones. Let's be realistics the country is already in a terrible state but we should all appreciate the little privilege being enjoyed instead of asking for more which is not viable. There is no enough land in Igbo land.

Let's leave in peace and harmony!

Why not give them your papa land nah?!

Have you seen where an Igbo man beg for land anywhere in Nigeria?! Igbos use their money to buy lands, not beg!

It is the begi- begi spirit and blood in you people that gives you the sense of entitlement that you can get everything free!

For your information, a plot of land in Nnewi today is between N15m to N50m! Which family or person will give up such treasure for free?!!

I don't think they are asking for free land for a market. Nobody in their right senses will do that. They are willing to pay but you IPods aren't willing to sell to them.

Hausa not Fulani. You don't have to show your ignorance to the world.

our people have a saying that when an oracle starts misbehaving, he will be shown the tree it was carved from. That was wat happened to Akpabio...and that is wat will happen to any leader who gives out igbo land to fulanis for cattle ranching

However I appreciate the enterprise of the hausa community. The New artisan market along Enu-ph express is an hausa market...we have not had any problem with them. U can go there and do anything...or buy anything and even Bleep their nyarinyas in their hijab for 500 naira.

Nnewi should gv them 2 plots for burial ground at 3 million each if they can afford it...and a market of about 10 plots at same price...then ensure that a local vigilante is set up there to monitor their activities. We need to do these things for the north as a sign of good faith. They are the one tribe outside igbos who invest a lot in igboland...and we want them to continue and we want them to accomodate our traders up north too.

This how the village of Ugwu-Oba in Enugu gave Hausa/Fulani a piece of land among the Enugu/Onitsha Expressway in the 80's. The Northerners into a "cattle colony". Before you know it, it expanded into the adjoining lands. Today, the Notherners are now threatening to take over Ugwu Oba

Who says they do not want to pay for the burial lands?

They are not always looking for handouts, they have contributed as much as you and I to the economy not Nigeria.
izombie:
I am still looking around nigeria to see where igbos were given free lands for the markets we have all over nigeria. These people are always looking for handouts. Igbos go to lands and buy lands for their business but when you come to igbo land you want us to give you free land. Won't work. Just bring out the money and nnewi community will sell the land to you, period.

Arrant nonsense. Every ethnic group has a culture. And for you to co-exist with them, you have to abide by their culture.

Igbo's don't give or ask for land for burial. They send back the corpse of their kinsmen home or pay for a cemetery.

You need your own market so that you can secretly stock pile weapons right?

And why are the Hausas and Yorubas not investing in Igbo land?

Gift and purchase are two different concepts. my understanding of the write up is that the Hausas are asking for a gift of land, while the igbos generally purchase or buy land. i do not think people have refused to sell land to them, at least i did not read that claim in the write-up, it is only gifting that has not happened
