Heros Was Ojukwu a Hero?? He ran away when the fight was so intense and left his people to suffer the brunt of the war... Ironsi started the coup and was the first millitary leader of Nigeria and thereby distroying the on going developing democracy... Abeg go nyash down. You went and married your fathers best friend and eloped. There's no igbo hero abeg. Even Azikiwe

every year they will commemorate the rwandan genocide but talk about remembering the people killed in biafra war, these set of people will kick against it all just to run away from history,

Do you know the meaning of war and Genocide?

Nigeria does not owe Biafra any apology or sympathy

Biafra soldiers who died are missing spanners as far as Nigeria is concerned.

Its voluntary and not mandated to express sympathy.

Or Hero = Coward in Ndigbo dictionary?

Zik + Ojukwu + Kanu all ran at the 1st sign of trouble

Immortalise what exactly, hero's of what, keep day dreaming there, igbos are the architects of whatever their problems are now, always making the same errors that keeps them as the minority. Wonder why an igbo man will never rule Nigeria, I can only blame the lack of intellectual prowess for their backwardness.
Lobatan, need we say more?

Rwanda lost 800 thousand souls. Nigeria lost 4 million souls. Very bad arithmetics. Rest in peace to the dead.

Yes he was, at least to his people. He stood up and fought for the freedom of his people at a time when all others chose to bow to the caliphate

I would rather be an Ojukwu who fought and ran away than be a coward that cannot fight at all, to even talk about getting to the stage of running away

Igbos can not comment without bringing others down. Why should others fight when there was no reason to fight? Igbos caused a war by killing other people's leaders. If they feel they have a reason to fight, fine. Why should Yorubas fight the northerners when they were not agrieved?

Do you know she is with pdp for close to 20 years even as an ambassador and she never spew this. Rather , she was everywhere harmonising her chances in forms of appointments, contracts and electoral value.
Not until the PMB came that the suffering Biafra soldiers got some reprieve.
But as usual, they know how to confuse the goons -political zombies who don't think, reflect or ask questions

I didn't know Cote D'ivoire was part of biafra. Ironsi's action after benefiting from the coup was partly responsible for the war.

Weil, Igbo heroes can only be immortalized in an Igbo country, not in a country they share with mortal enemies.
One would think that this should be common sense, but apparently, Igbo politicians don't seem to get it.

Bianca Ojukwu, wife of late Biafran warlord Odumegwu Ojukwu has stated that Igbo fallen heroes not properly honoured. In her funeral tribute to a former President General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Dozie Ikedife in Nnewi, Anambra State, the former beauty queen said such personalities should be immortalised in such a way that would reflect their ideals and philosophies.

Bianca Ojukwu who maintained that Igbo fallen heroes not properly honoured in her speech, also called on Ndigbo to brace for such occasions by working out good immortalisation schemes for their people. She said;

“It has always been an issue on how to immortalise great men, especially of Igbo extraction. I think individuals; organisations and institutions should sit down and think of enduring monument for such great people.Such monument should not just be in making statutes to remember the dead.

“It should involve setting up of projects that show the person’s philosophies, ideologies and all the things he believed in life. Such beliefs, philosophies, ideologies should have a place they are discussed, espoused, promoted and investigated.”

Gowon and Ojukwu met in Aburi, Ghana and signed an agreement. Gowon came back to Nigeria and broke the agreement. This caused Ojukwu to declare Biafra and the n Gowon declared war

The war was because Gowon refused to honour the agreement he signed in Ghana

Why should Gowon and Ojukwu make an agreement on behalf of all Nigerians? Who gave them such power? What happened to the agreement Nigerians had in London through their various representatives?

You should have "Heroes" and "Fallen Heroes" with the true meaning of the word heroes first before you ask others to honor them!

What IGBOS describe as Heroes are actually cowards who incite violence then run away and hide until others are dead and ceasefire declared. They then return on free flight and demand medals and hero welcomes.

Even IGBO drug dealers returning from jail are considered heroes.

Igbos generally prefer other people to their own, which is why they don’t honor their own people. They suffer inferiority complex most times and only like to celebrate moneybags instead of those who have principles and ideology. Integrity don’t mean much to Igbos. It is only money that they worship. Federal Govt bill Zik mausoleum, and it is Buhari who complete and open it. Obiano did not contribute any dime.
