But why do you think a car will chill very much in the mornings and at night but stops cooling when places are hot(compressor does not even engage) and when the engines warms up a little in same mornings all at idle?

I think you might have a problem with one of the following.
1. Front sam.... It supplies the Current needed for compressor clutch to engage.
2.AC pressure switch...it monitors the Freon pressure in the AC system. When its not sending accurate reading to the ECU , ECU will shut down the compressor.
3. Low Freon...
4. Bad AC control unit....a bad control unit will engage or disengage the Compressor at will.

Have your your hooked to a good scanner to avoid wasting money on guess work...it doesn't necessarily have to be a star scanner.

i had such problem with my car then. did all same thing you did and it will work for some time and kaput. tried like two AC tech and same thing continue. i spent close to 200k with no result.

i gave up only for a friend of mine to introduce me to a tech that changed the condenser unit and also fixed a leak in a pipe behind the dashboard that supply the blower unit i think - he dismantled the entire dashboard to get to one fan like that behind the dashboard - av forgotten - the thing is, after the works the AC worked like new till i sold the car.

Plz is it normal for the AC of my c320 2005 to blow cool air even without switching the ac on? When I start my engine cool air comes out of the vents then stops after some time.

Please I need the contact(s) of a reliable Benz mechanic for a brother in Lagos (preferably Ladipo, oshodi, isolo, iyana ipaja or Ikotun axis). His C180 doesn't go beyond 30km/hr because of a gear related problem and might not be able to go far.

Power: The C230 is faster in terms of speed than the C180 since it's equipped with a supercharger (kompressor)

Reliability: Both models are but the C180 is more reliable when considering the aspect of the supercharger on the C230 which can fail due to age.

Maintenance: maintenance is almost same because they are both 4 cylinder engines and share similar mechanical and electrical parts.

Fuel Consumption: They are both economical.
