2009 or so. Was invited for a job interview in Lagos. I decide to Google the company name before traveling all the way down to Lagos. Google directed me to a thread were I realized it was a GNLD marketing scheme. That thread saved me money, time and stress of travelling down to Lagos. I was very grateful and since then, I kept visiting nairaland.

Really enjoyed the politics section then; I think Jarus was a politics mod then. I enjoyed the convo and argument featuring the likes of Beaf, aj_harem etc.

Good o'days.

In 2006.. Via Google search.

There used to one very intelligent fellow back then with the moniker - Beef (Guy used to be a political analyst) very good one.

Back then the topics were better, ads and spam were minimal, conversations and member contributions were very very intelligent.

Above all, Bet9ja, Tonto Dike, BBNaija, Buhari, Afonja, Igbo, Regina Daniel, VPN, dating logs, Canada/US Visa, etc were non-existent!!

My first account was registered in 2008. Then this accout 2010.

Bring back our NL mods embarassed embarassed embarassed

In 2013 , I was searching for NYSC 2013 Batch A news on Google. Suddenly, I found a nairaland thread by YoKiti, Ogbeche77 ,etc That was how I registered on NL.

if you used to come online back then in the mid 2000's there is no how you would not end up on NL as a nigerian because there wasn't much content in the web.
Mid 2000? I taught nairaland was created in 2005.
