Knotting ties correctly can be the norm for some but many of us still find it hard to follow the basic rules of tie. At Menvocate, building men is always on our mind. These rules are such that you shouldn’t overlook when knotting tie. In consequent posts, we will go deeper on each of them but for now, let’s focus on these.
1. Tip of the Tie and Belt : Let the tip of your tie end around your belt line. Some people always claim you can let it stay anywhere above your belt line. But I’ll advice that you to let it touch your belt line but never below the tie.
2. The Skinny Tie :Fat ties are dangerously bad for you, They make you look like a character out of a comic book. Also, using very skinny ties will make you look like a joker or someone selling things off the ice-cream van.


3. Convention Helps Here : The conventional way of knotting ties are simply the best for any situation. It’s neither big nor small and goes with any type of shirt or suit.

4. Steer Clear of Odd Patterns : Don’t go for ties with wanton characters like series of emojis or patterns. Using plain ones are always good and work with any other shirt.
5. Like Attracts Like : Make the texture of the tie be the same as the shirt.
