There are more than a 1000 ways to commit suicide...why thinking like a fuckedup nutcase? angry

the active ingredient in Sniper is DDVP (nerve poison). There zillions of insecticides in Nigeria with DDVP. NAFDAC is confused.

So those that lives in area where there are snakes and scorpions, won't be able to get sniper to fumigate their house, A man that's contemplating suicide won't think bout sniper, he use anything available, the government should set up committee to look into the rampant cases of suicide, not just banning sniper or can they ban rope and stool

The government are so clueless. My brother they are others. You can buy DDFORCE. it’s more powerful than snipper

The manufacturers of sniper are silly. Even when news was awash about the negative use of their product, they still kept mum. Not even a press release. Sheer irresponsibility on their part, I wish they were banned. Nonsense.

Banning sniper will not solve anything. There are many other alternatives out there people can use. The solution against suicide is to find the cause/reason behind it. The country is so messed up. Everything stopped working immediately the british handed over in 1960. Nobody sees a better Nigeria ahead because nothing is on ground to show that things will get better. Everybody needs hope but hope is not forthcoming. May God help us.

When they ban sniper, won't people find other products to be used as poison? Nigeria is a place where people who ought to be proactive behave in a reactive manner...

So is there hope in suicide?

Suicide aside, sniper is being abused by a lot of Nigerians and could lead to damaging consequences to their health in future. Sniper is a pesticide meant for outdoor use in dilute quantities. But a lot of Nigerians are using it as an insecticide and spraying it indoors in concentrated quantities. It's only a matter of time before it accumulates in the system and cause respiratory and circulatory disorders or even cancer.

That said, banning sniper will do little to solve the alarmingly increasing rate of suicide amongst the people.

Next is to ban ropes then ban ceiling fans, then ban stools or chairs, then ban otapiapia, then ban knives, then ban any other thing that people could use for suicide. Its a good idea to ban snipper and ignore why people take sniper. Let's just put plaster over a festering wound and neglect the wound. That makes plenty of sense

Exactly! Sniper was originally meant to be used in farms. The company just released an aerosol insectide. They should have done that ages ago when their products started being infamous as a means of suicide. I hope people don't get ideas about using the aerosols for similar purposes. As for reducing the amount of suicides, the ban would help greatly, people intend to commit suicides usually want a quick and relatively painless death. Other methods like hanging, cutting, drowning are too painful and onset of death is not immediate. At least it's going to much harder to buy death being sold dirt-cheap in a bottle.
