When driving in a wet water logged road, the tyres act to continually grip the road and dissipate water thru the threads, but sometimes, it fails and can result to hydroplaning. Hydroplaning is a phenomenon where a vehicle tyre loses contact with firm terrain and instead glides on thin sheet of water, it could be dangerous situation which could cause the vehicle to lose control and skid.

Tragedy averted today in Port Harcourt as Air Peace Plane overshoots runway while landing at the Port Harcourt Airport.

The reason while the plane skidded off the runway is unknown, but it may not be unconnected with the weather as it was obviously raining in the video and there was every possibility that the plane skidded when it's wheels touched ground.

Serious. Thank God no life was lost. Passengers should be thanking God for a second chance of life. Landing is usually a dangerous phase of the flight. Do the rain contribute? Hope this will be investigated thoroughly to prevent reoccurence. And all recommendations from the investigation implemented and sustained. Not just swept under the carpet.
