5 Major Misconception About Male Rape by menvocate(m): 8:39pm On Jul 10, 2019
So, in recent times, men have been coming out of the closet to describe the gruesome things some ‘Aunties’, maids, and sodomites have done to them. But toxic masculinity has eaten deep into the mind of the world they are presenting it to. At least, several ladies are at the forefront of male rape. Thus, it is really appalling to see the number of men that still have these crazy misconceptions about Male rape. Oh! Some women would still not find it as piteous as that of the women.
On 29th of June, 2019, Castano Yemi Dada, with the username, @YemiCastano, took to Twitter to describe how he facilitated the arrest of a woman, who had been sleeping with the 13-year-old son of her friend. Also, on Nairaland, several posts were made to the effect of male rape and Menvocate noticed some misconceptions people have about male rape that should never be.

1. Males Are Not Vulnerable: It is believed that men are strong. It is also believed that the male child is able to stand on his own. And this misconception had weakened the resolve of many boys to talk about their feelings. When a boy falls and cries, people will shout him down saying ‘suck it up. You’re a man’. But in recent times, we have seen that the rate of suicide has more men in its circle than women.
Not only that, another recent example was a Montana woman who broke into a man’s house with a machete, ordered him to take off his clothes and forced him to have sex with her.
Please, boys are vulnerable. They are easily seduced into doing new things than girls, whom many have been teaching sex education as soon as they notice them exhibiting certain characters.

2. Male always desire sex: It is believed the male child or male generally must have had the desire for sex.
In an article of the Journal Clinical Forensic Medicine by Roy J. Levin and Willy Van Berlo, slight stimulation or stress can create an erection in men. In our topic, crazy causes of erection, I think you will get a better understanding of men’s erection. They are not only stimulated when they want sex. There are times their body react to sexual suggestions; yet, their arousal doesn’t mean consent.

3. Men Would Have Less Trauma: According to some studies, rape is damaging to both the male and female child. Most times, males are placed to struggle with social stigma and the belief that they can be victimized.
In a study by Frazier(2003) where he used 74 male and 1380 female rape victim, she discovered that the male victims are prone to be more depressed or hostile after rape.

4. Sexual Orientation: Most times, rape victims are seen as gay etc.

5. Male victims are Lucky: Many people see them as lucky bastards who got what most men long for. Some people are known to wish they are the ones that had the opportunity. To be honest, some of these guys are out there looking for ways to get over the pain. Don’t make it look like nothing happened to them.
While Menvocate hates that some girls have has to go through the pain of rape, we should never forget the male child.

6. Men can not be raped .

Yes, it is known that it is almost impossible for men to be pinned down and be physically abused by a woman but this does not negate the manipulative measures women use to get unwanted sex from men. Seduction ( the most common tool) which involves intentionally arousing a man till he is placed in a corner that he has to satisfy his sexual urge against his will is Rape. Most often women's crimes are acquitted because these crimes are given palatable names which makes them look less gruesome.

If rape is about forced intimacy, then what is seduction? Men be wise.

Unfortunately for the male gender, there's no penalty for seduction in our law, the law expects the male gender to hold it no matter how aroused a man is

And it also doesn't see wearing provocative dresses as a crime but the rape that is birthed by these two is the crime, psychologically it is unfair to the male gender

Lol I'm not arguing with, just pointing out where to start your fight from in case you all decide to liberate yourselves.
