Lets Start with the bible to get a good background of the story.

Exodus 1 New International Version (NIV)
The Israelites Oppressed

8 Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. 9 “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become far too numerous for us. 10 Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”

11 So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. 12 But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites 13 and worked them ruthlessly. 14 They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly.

15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16 “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.”

17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. 18 Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, “Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?”

19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, “Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.”

20 So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.

22 Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.”

Discussion
We can see clearly from the bible(Exodus1 :17-19) that the Midwives lied to pharaoh by deliberately fabricating a story that Hebrew women give birth in a special way to cover up their "disobedience to pharaoh's order". Clearly the midwives just could not carry out the order. The hebrew women were not special in anyway on how they give birth. The hebrew midwives only fabricated the story the save themselves from possible punishment from Pharoah.

They lied but pleased God because they lied out of fear of the Lord.

Thanks for this revelation. I once preached this to a friend and she was like I am not religious or better still not a believer. I know God can do all things but it is right we accept God in the truth of the scriptures and not conditioning the scriptures to suit our tendencies to deceive the miracle seeking, gullible christians

Revelation 21:8 KJV
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Your bible seems to be conflicting except there are various types of lies

Hi!

I'm currently in the beginnings of launching an online Christian network for young Nigerian women.

The nature of this platform is to have a safe space for young women to learn from one another, come together and collaborate in our spiritual journey with God.
In Nigeria, young women as well as men feel constricted by religion, the Glory Network wants to show them that a relationship with God is liberating and fun.

Glory is based on creative experiences from music, art, fashion and food. Our desire is to keep the conversation flowing and going around God, the glory he has set within each and every one of us and to help discover that glory with divine assistance from God and from fellow young women.

Glory discusses honest and transparent topics, a Christian Journey is not the easiest but having someone to share it with makes it all the better.

I would greatly appreciate if you could fill out this survey so we can make the Glory experience the Best experience!

The fact that the midwives said Hebrew women gave birth early isn't disprovable. the part where they lied, for me, is were they said the early birth prevented the killing of the male children.

There is no evidence they gave birth early. The bible was clear, they fabricated the early birth as a way of saying they didn't midwifed the births. The bible clearly made it clear they actually midwived the births.
