bigpicture001: Pls tell me you are joking. First you have to calculate the amount of water passing that point in a minute the provide the pipes that would allow passage of the same water plus account for friction, turbulence etc By this time you are not just back to square 1 but you have actually made the problem worst because the pipes will not be able to bear the weight of a congested traffic on the road which is the worst case scenario. The possibilities of this being the worst idea is endless. Water bodies are not what you will play with anyhow else it will lead to loss of lives and property. |

Dave0116:Well, government policies do change with time. Another government could come in tomorrow and decide to toll the bridge and other new roads/bridges across the country. If the money received from the tolls would actually be used to maintain the roads/bridges to global standards, then tolling shouldn't be a bad idea. But you and I know how Nigerian governments operate, the money realised would certainly be diverted even whilst the roads/bridges degrade without maintenance. 1 Like |

Afamed: And Buhari is using the rest to fight Boko Haram, Shia, ISWAP, Cattle rustler, and politicians - basically wasting money and time, without any strategy. Whatever is left he wants to use to resettle Fulani all over in world in Nigeria - Ruga! This bridge, like several other infrastructure the dullard is trying to build are mostly from borrowed funds. Wait until the dullard leaves office to see the full extent of the rot. 1 Like |

Afamed: Idiots even if GEJ was still there, the bridge construction will have continued regardless. The financing arrangement was already sorted by them. Okonjo Iweala, the current MD of Nigeria Sovereign Wealth Fund (NSIA), Mr. Uche Orji all perfected the financing arrangement with the FG already paying down their 30% counterpart funding and NSIA and JB will source the remaining through ECA and equities. PMB assumed into office and saw a worked out system in place and followed it up as expected of him So stop blabbing about how PMB is doing us a favour, because it's not a favour, it's our bloody right. Even if he decides to hault the project, successive administrations will complete it. So Bleep off 2 Likes 2 Shares |

theenchanter:Nice question. You get brain. The answer is simple though. The sandfill is just for a temporary basis. Over time they will allow the flow of water if not the water level will rise and you know what it means naa |

as an engineer d company building it is using local technology, with modern technology bridges are built with fewer but more strong pillars with bigger gaps in between to allow bigger vessels to pass through, strong steel alloys are use for the top since d gaps are more d strength of d materials will be great so that it doesn't cave in but in this case they are using Chinese local technology ,supporting it with a lot of small useless pillars, choking up spaces, vessels d size of trailer or container body can't pass under this bridge , bad technology 2 Likes |

theenchanter: I want to believe that you asked an innocent question here, so you don't deserve any scolding. No amount of "sandfilling" and asphaltic laying would make any road constructed around that area be able to withstand the tension and loads Dangote trucks and the likes would be exerting on it. 1 Like |

obailala: There hasn't been any cancellation. PMB is just following up the process as planned by his predecessor. FG during GEJ's tenure had a already paid up their counterpart funding. The project is under the active management of the NSIA |
